What you will do


Coordinates and oversees Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance activities ensuring they meet applicable regulatory requirements and internal business requirements, and assuring they achieve the set goals of efficiency, effectiveness and compliance.

Liaison with other Business and Functional Managers throughout the organization, to ensure activities are being properly planned, implemented, executed, and maintained, meeting their expectations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop highly competent teams capable of executing to the strategic plan with deep technical skills, innovation ability, engineering knowhow and core competencies
  • Support with the development of the manufacturing and process engineering expertise through intentional selection, training and development of engineering talent.
  • Deliver effective engineering solutions to drive Corrective and Preventive Action, Statistical Process Controls, Validations, Six Sigma and similar methodologies with full compliance to FDA QSR, ISO 13485, Corporate and Divisional procedures
  • Partner with Supplier Quality, AO, Supply chain and Strategic Sourcing teams to develop close strategic collaboration with OEM's, component suppliers, manufacturing equipment, and technology partners to ensure optimum vendor selection, machine/component pricing, and servicing as well as supply chain design.
  • Support Validation activities and work closely with Validation Systems engineers to keep process and equipment qualification processes up to the standards.
  • Oversee the specification, purchase and qualification of capital equipment optimizing technological capabilities and return on investment.
  • Provide effective support for daily production operations with heightened level of urgency; ensure that all products meet specifications, performance, quality, cost, yield and capacity targets.
  • Provide training, training materials and operator support as required.
  • Advocate for Safety and Environmental Excellency; Drive workplace ergonomics and facility layout design.
  • Drive the achievement of excellence in project management.
  • Communicates regular weekly updates on project status to senior management, project teams, stakeholders and sponsors. Ensure flawless delivery of all project commitments.
  • Monitor and review of monthly departmental budgets and compilation of overall monthly capital and expense spend projections.
  • Responsible for Manufacturing Engineering's & Maintenance departmental compliance with company policies and corrective actions
  • Continuously strive to improve quality of products by recognizing opportunities for improvement and ideas
  • Provide technical support to continuous improvement projects, process changes, and new product introduction projects.
  • Identify opportunities, make recommendations, and implement improvements in operations performance to optimize product volume, yields, and quality in accordance with business needs, minimizing operating costs, and maximizing safety and reliability.
  • Gather and evaluate appropriate data, utilizing statistical techniques, to improve process capability and/or identify root causes of problems, and implement improvement opportunities.

What you will need

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- +10 years of working experience in a FDA regulated facility, preferably in medical devices.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience leading teams is required.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish.
  • Knowledge in SAP.
