    Your contributions to our team will help us increase content coverage in existing and emerging markets to give our customers a premium music metadata experience.

    Our Music Editorial team is made up of music specialists with a deep knowledge of regional music trends and genres.

    We are presently looking for a Music Specialist for our Music Editorial team, with a special focus on traditional and new Jazz music for the US and Global markets.

    This role will be located in Mexico, reporting to the Mexico Team Lead.

    About the Role Gracenote's Music Editorial team is made up of music enthusiasts with a deep knowledge of regional music trends and genres.

    We are looking for an all-around music enthusiast with a special interest in Jazz for the US and Global markets.

    Successful candidates will have a strong breadth and depth of knowledge about different genres of popular music, with special consideration for traditional and new Jazz for the US and Global markets.

    In this position, you will combine your music knowledge with a sharp eye for detail in order to support an artist and discography database.

    You must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable with technology. You must be able to maintain focus on tasks and deliverables under tight deadlines.

    ResponsibilitiesEnsure that album and artist metadata are of highest qualityApply independent judgment to review, correct and classify music-related data elements according to established standards and practicesSupport artist enrichment review effortsAct as the team's specialist on issues related to traditional and new Jazz artists and their musical releases.

    Ensure that metadata in new music content adheres to our standardsResearch artists to enrich and verify metadataCommunicate issues and resolutions clearly and concisely, escalating problems as neededAssist in creating and maintaining documentation of workflows, tool use, quality controlLearn and master internal Gracenote tools, technologies, data standards, and processes QualificationsBi/multilingual - native or fluent English, with native or fluent knowledge of Spanish.

    Additional related languages are a plus.
    Comprehensive and well-rounded knowledge of traditional and new Jazz artists and music releases and of the general global music market & general global music marketAbility to review, navigate, and compare vast amounts of textual and imagery information from multiple information sources in a rapid mannerHave familiarity with data-standardization policies and techniques, styles guides, and/or normalization routinesAbility to work independently, without direct supervision, surfacing problems or issues as necessaryDetail-oriented with good judgment, critical thinking, and a strong capacity for spotting trends and/or anomaliesExcellent internet research skillsExcellent writing, editing and verbal communication skillsExperience working with large amounts of dataHigh computer literacy (use of keyboard shortcuts, efficient file/folder management, etc.) and advanced Microsoft Excel skillsBasic understanding of the current state of the digital/streaming music business, previous experience with the radio industry or related media industry job is a plusFluency/familiarity with languages other than English and Spanish is a plusExperience with databases and other technological infrastructure is a plusBA/BS degree preferred, or substantial equivalent experience#LI-AW1
