    Qualifications and Skills:

  • Four-year University teaching degree in Elementary or Junior High Education.
  • Teaching experience at the Elementary, Junior High, Or High School levels.
  • Recognized professional teaching certification in Canada or the US.
  • Proficiency in English with excellent pronunciation.
  • Ability to teach in a cross-curricular and 21st-century learning environment.
  • Strong Literacy and Numeracy skills.
  • Understanding of Career and Technology Foundations.
  • Experience working with ELL students.
  • Willingness to contribute to taking an active part in committees, the school community, design teams, and school initiatives.
  • Teachers are required to have or obtain, an Alberta Teaching License to be eligible for employment.

    Our preschool program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which seeks to create a learning environment that motivates and facilitates a child's way of thinking by stimulating their senses. With the Reggio Emilia philosophy, children have full access to multiple activities, for example, painting, sculpture, drama, etc., since this program is based on discovery, investigation, and inquiry. It is a place where children lead the way and where teachers explore a child's interest, her ability to question, and her natural curiosity.

    We use the English language in teaching and as a means of communication within the school at all levels, allowing our students to learn a second language in a similar way to learning their mother tongue.
