About the Role:


We are currently looking for a Regulatory Counsel who has expertise in regulatory matters, to join the Uber Mexican Legal Team as we scale our business globally.

Our team is seeking outstanding lawyers who provide guidance and advice for Uber's business operations across all lines of business.

The position will be based in Mexico, Uber's LATAM Talent Hub.

What You'll Do:


  • Coordinate with the Policy and litigation teams in legal strategies related to company issues
  • Provide legal support to the business and policy teams in fastpaced, high impact, and high profile situations based on legal research and analysis of applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Be an active and trusted business partner, and ensure the provision of timely businessfocussed regulatory advice to the business. It's our job to peer around corners for the business and ensure that we are wellpositioned for the future
  • Coordinate with compliance and regional legal teams, as well as working closely with the global legal competition team
  • Deal with multiple stakeholders across different business lines and teams
  • Be a strong communicator, innovator and collaborator to effectively achieve our legal and regulatory priorities

What You'll Need:


  • Keen business judgment and ability to analyze complex legal issues while considering risk, while providing holistic advice to business and other key partners
  • Attention to detail, ability to multitask, handle cases, and carry out meaningful projects with limited oversight
  • Excellent business judgment, superior analytical and legal skills, mature judgment, innovative thinking and a desire to take the initiative and think two steps ahead
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory issues and ambiguity into clear and simple advice, to communicate effectively with nonlegal internal colleagues, and to interface with a broad range of senior business managers, executives and other colleagues and professionals across our company
  • Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics and accountability
  • Ability to spot legal issues in new areas and strong skills in legal drafting and effective communication.
  • Ability to manage projects and stakeholders. This position requires ability to influence others (e.g., change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others) in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fastpaced environment and to reprioritize quickly to address shifting business needs
  • Willingness to learn, be a great teammate, and fun to work with

Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum of six (6) years of legal and regulatory experience in private practice, government, and/or inhouse
  • Experience analyzing and advising on a wide range of regulatory matters
  • Comfortable in working with shifting priorities, ambiguity and fastpaced and challenging environments
  • Selfstarter and selfsufficient
  • An LLM is a nice addition
