    Inventory Purchasing Supervisor.

    Main responsibilities of the position:

    The Inventory Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Buyers and the Scheduling team within Materials. In addition, this position will oversee the receiving and invoice management process in coordination with Warehouse Receiving. This position is ultimately responsible for the delivery performance and communication with the global supply base.

    Main job-specific requirements / skills:


    • Ideal candidate will possess a 4 year degree with a Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, Materials, or Technical educational background.

    • Ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years purchasing experience. CPM or CPSM is desirable.

    • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability. sourcing strategies, and quickly execute tasks to realize benefits.

    • Ability to multi-task multiple categories & projects. Ability to coordinate strategies/activities across multiple business functions.

    • Financial & quantitative analysis experience a plus. Problem solving skills essential,

    • Verbal and written skills - ability to communicate to all levels of management required.

    • Good negotiation and problem solving skills. Adept at dealing with situations involving conflict, and able to facilitate constructive resolution.

    • First escalation point with suppliers related to shortages or account related issues. Coordinates major issues with the Commodity Management team.

    • Proactively communicate risks to Production and recovery timing to the organization and develop and execute plans to mitigate risk.

    • Quickly assess the viability of supporting short and medium-term increases in demand, distribution gains or innovation/customization projects.

    • Develops and organizes the Buying team and support staff to coordinate day-to-day activities and material flow.

    • Develops standards and metrics for performance related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.

    • Mentors and develops top level talent for the aftermarket organization.

    Optional:


    • Familiar with appropriate software programs. PC based software knowledge must include MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with Oracle and access or other SQL application is a plus.

    • Organized and capable of dealing with high volume of interactions with a broad cross-section of the company.

    • Able to effectively prioritize multiple priorities.

    • Seeking candidates with a genuine desire to develop as a Buyer and a Purchasing Professional

    • Experience in a manufacturing environment required and lean manufacturing preferred.
