This position will be responsible for driving the identification and execution of category plans and strategic sourcing initiatives through their assigned categories of Americas Logistics spend totaling ~$150M.

This regional position will at times work with Global Procurement Indirect/Logistics team members in a matrixed environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishing, leading, and supporting cross functional category teams to develop and maintain Category Strategies within their assigned regional Indirect categories.
  • Is responsible for long term planning, strategy development, and support continuous improvement of assigned spend categories.
  • Develops and implements sourcing, negotiating and contracting strategies to achieve the desired outcomes aligned with the Category Strategy for global indirect procurement categories.
  • Directs crossfunctional teams using analysis of historical spend data, market research and cost modeling to identify and leverage high value opportunities that deliver innovative and sustainable value, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation to the business.
  • Establishes total landed cost model and/or Total Cost of Ownership Model for the category, in alignment with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates improvement in cost, cash flow, quality and risk related to assigned categories of Indirect spend
  • Supports dotted line / matrixed global Indirect Procurement associates when collaboration is required.
  • Provides leadership to key stakeholders throughout the company and builds relationships that facilitate the realization of delivering strategic and financial value.
  • Manages the preferred supplier program with a "plan for every partner" to ensure business continuity, performance and best price.
  • The Indirect Americas Category Manager will manage their assigned Indirect Categories as an owner. This will involve working closely with value stream partners to improve performance and cost. Done well, this work will reduce the friction felt by customers and make Vertiv "easier to do business with".
  • Lead lean, cost savings and continuous improvement projects related to shipping, warehousing, space optimization, materials handling and product storage

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications:


  • Prefer a minimum of 3 years' experience in supply chain/operations.
  • Certification in CPSM, CSCP, CLTD, Business Intelligence, Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence preferred (Green Belt, Black Belt, Lean Certified etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 5 years' experience in supply chain/operations.
  • CPSM, CLTD, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent certification(s)
  • Experience sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for transportation and warehousing services
  • Experience leading Logistics cost reduction or continuous improvement projects
  • English language skills required

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Business, Engineering, or related area.
