Job Description:


Overall Responsibilities

  • Determine reliability requirements of electronic products in cooperation with all functional disciplines.
  • Lead the collection of loads by physical measurements and analytical estimations with the extended crossfunctional team.
  • Derive physical loads on products and components and determine corresponding stresses by working crossdisciplinary with simulation engineers and laboratory.
  • Define, determine, report and document Design Validation Plans (DVP&R), Quality/Reliability Test Plans and Technical Customer Documentation
  • Perform Risk Analysis and Assessments on reliability topics with focus on Physics of Failure
  • Support the concept and detailed design process from the Design for Reliability perspective, assessing the implications of loads, stresses against materials strengths
  • Engage in technical discussions and negotiations with key stakeholders and customers about Design Validation Plans

Technical Responsibilities

  • Develop tools, models and methods to predict reliability in automotive electronics
  • Estimate failure probabilities and reliability life through mathematical models and statistical methods
  • Derive and breakdown physical loads applied on the products from multiple sources
Derivation of relevant load profiles and knowledge based correlation with accelerated lifetime tests

  • Support of project managers in discussions regarding reliability requirements with internal customers and OEM's
  • Derivation of aging and acceleration laws for dedicated design elements by using scientific approaches.
  • Coordination of all project specific reliability aspects within mechanical design,simulation, analysis and validation
  • Cooperation with internal and external contacts (Universities, CR, customer, OEM, supplier) for development of new testing and simulation methodologies
  • Implementation of developed methodologies in product design.

Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor Science in an Engineering Discipline or Foreign Equivalent.
  • 1+ years experience in Engineering Mechanics Elasticity and Plasticity Theory, Fracture Mechanics, Tribology, and other Engineering Mechanics fields.
  • Good communication, collaboration and selfleadership skills. Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge in Reliability Engineering Statistics
  • Knowledge and experience with CFD/FEA in Ansys Icepak and Ansys Mechanical, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Data Analysis utilizing Reliasoft, Matlab, and Minitab, or similar.
  • Programming knowledge in Python, Matlab and/or C/C++
