Job Summary:

The Systems Engineer 2 is responsible to help design, develop, manage, and maintain the systems in their area of responsibility.

They are also required to be able to lead/coordinate projects related to their area of expertise.

Summary of Duties:

Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
Install, configure, maintain, and manage networking devices, servers, storage, and operating systems
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Plan, implement and administer network security, including managing host/device security
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Maintain security protocols defined by the chief security office
Work with different business units to address their needs and concerns as it pertains to the systems that they support and manage.
Lead Security initiatives (Encryption, Multi Factor Authentication, Vulnerability and Patch Management)
Coordinate, get approval for, and record all changes in the IT Change Management System

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's (BA or BS.) degree or an equivalent degree from a college or technical school in a related area; or 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

3+ years of experience in field of expertise if BA acquired or 6+ years if BA not obtained
35 years working knowledge of Windows including Windows 10, 2016, 2020, Active Directory, Group Policy, etc
35+ years' experience in highly relevant Virtualization and Network engineering.
General knowledge of Cisco switches, VLAN, and WAN
Experience with VMware technologies (ESXi, vSAN, Horizon, NSX, Velocloud, etc.)
Experience with SAN storage technologies and integration with Citrix and VMWare and Dell
Managing DNS, DHCP, KMS, NFS, DFS, SMTP, clustering
Experience with configuring Layer 2 and 3 switches to support a virtualized environment and maximizing network performance
Experience with Cloud preferred (e.g., AWS, Azure)
Experience with monitoring systems (e.g., Nagios, Solarwinds)
Solid scripting skills (e.g., Powershell, VBscript, etc)
Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
