MAIN ACTIVITIES:


  • This position is located at the Stanley Black and Decker Development & Manufacturing Center in Monterrey, Mexico OR Hermosillo, Mexico.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on Brushless Motors design, evaluation, manufacturing, and quality / test processes for motors and related components.
  • This position is a key authority in making engineering decisions and approvals for production of motors and related components.
  • Effectively plan and coordinate preproduction sample lot builds for new motors including component ordering, assembly, quality, and test / evaluation methods.
  • Review and approve supplied components according to 2d drawing specifications and other requirements (PPAP, quality, packaging, etc.), and work with suppliers on corrective actions.
  • Support internal motor manufacturing process development and tester qualification.
  • Work with New Product Development teams to improve brushless motor designs following a structured stage gate product development process.
  • Conduct technical investigations and propose or evaluate potential design changes, completing engineering documentation as needed.
  • Generate and lead projects that support Warranty, Reliability, Cost, or Quality objectives.
  • Evaluate and audit motor component suppliers. Provide engineering support to develop local supply base.
  • Support Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Effectively manage multiple projects. communicating project status, design, testing, and process improvements to leaders in a timely manner.

Education required:


  • Minimum 2year BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • English 90% proficiency.

Work experience required:


2 years or more experience as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, NPI or Resident Engineer, or Engineering Program Manager in a manufacturing field.


Skills required:


  • Wellrounded in advanced engineering concepts, problem solving skills, & data analysis.
  • Familiar with performing Tolerance Stackup Analysis, interpreting GD&T, measurement systems, quality control plans and systems, and related New Product Development processes.
  • A selfstarting resultsoriented individual who works well in a team environment and commits to tough decisions when required.
  • Must be well organized, able to handle multiple projects and priorities and be adept at information gathering and technical decisionmaking in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills with ability to generate professional presentations.
  • Working Knowledge 3D design software is required
  • CATIA V5 & Windchill preferred.
  • Proficiency using Business Administration Software (SAP/ORACLE/Other), Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
