    Job Description

    The BMS Software Application Engineer is responsible for developing advanced automotive battery packs from initial design concept through full volume production. The Engineer is responsible for the release and system integration of the BMS on BEV vehicle architectures for products that specifically require in-house BMS controls. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop program BMS software requirements that satisfy vehicle level functional objectives, Cross-functional coordination of SW planning, requirements decomposition, integration and validation efforts with internal and external stakeholders in order to meet critical program milestones. Lead coordination of BMS SW CDR reviews internally and with the supplier. Track and manage feature capability and issue recovery for BMS functionality. Coordinate and track validation efforts with cross functional team and supplier. Provide program deliverables on time per major development milestones. Lead CM meetings with internal stakeholders to manage, track and resolve critical issues to support vehicle development and production milestones. The Application lead is also able to support plant critical activities/builds and End of Line.

    Requirements

    Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or Equivalent
  • 3 years of product development and/or process development
  • Li-ion Batteries experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in debugging issues, tools, calibration software in the automotive industry is a must
  • Understanding of energy storage systems and vehicle electrification preferred
    Good knowledge of battery management system, software and hardware design preferred
  • Good Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
  • Highly Motivated and Self Starter with high attention to detail
  • Experience with requirements flow and development
  • Demonstrated Ability to Work in a Team Environment
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of battery management system, software and hardware design
  • Experience in project management and coordination
  • High Voltage Battery or High Voltage powertrain experience
  • Understanding of diagnostics for an electronic module
  • Extensive knowledge and hands on use of INCA, CDA, CAN, CANalyzer, Canoe, and other Electrical root cause tools (such as scopes, .
