    Johnson Electric is excited to announce we are now recruiting for a Packaging Engineer (Regional) responsible for designing and developing returnable and expendable packaging for to ensure efficient receipt and delivery of material, complying with guidelines, manufacturing, logistic & quality conditions at minimum total costs, in close cooperation with Process Engineers & Site Operations team across multiple sites in North America.

    Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Execute packaging creation and release based on project plan and schedules, monitor, manage risk and problems, identify solutions, and implement them.
  • Responsible to perform the packaging validation test and/or supervise and approve the packaging test from suppliers, ensure test reports complies with requirements.
  • Create product & packaging BOM's and associated documents in support of New Product Introduction, Change Management, cost reduction, and customer packaging change initiatives.
  • Identify and lead cost reduction and process improvement projects relating to packaging components and innovation.
  • Create packaging concepts and container layouts using 3D modelling software. Experience using Auto-CAD, Office, 3D modelling software.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Lead Packaging development and approval with OEM's for returnable packaging/service parts packaging/expendable packaging.
  • Develops internal plant packaging concepts to eliminate re-packaging of components into the product automation assembly lines.
  • Coordinates with packaging suppliers and automation suppliers as needed by our sites.
  • Familiar with dunnage's, bulk containers, corrugated boxes, collapsable packaging & developing Sustainable packaging.
  • Our Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of work experience in packaging design & development .
  • Project planning experience related to automotive products is an advantage.
  • Good time management skill; good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Spoken and written English.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
