ABOUT WHIRLPOOL CORPORATION

The team you will be a part of:

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products.

Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.


This role in summary:


The Dryer Performance -Associate position will be located in the Dry Systems team, within the Laundry Performance Subsystem team The engineer will be responsible for Dryer Hydraulics subsystem deliverables, including development, execution, verification and validation, working with global cross functional teams during various phases of projects. Working with the team to develop new and innovative features that integrate seamlessly into new or existing dryers and delight our customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

Support the module technology roadmaps and manage key inputs such as complexity reduction, attribute requirements, and cost & quality to ensure the proper strategy is in place.

Lead new module designs from concept development to execution working cross-functionally with our business and manufacturing teams.

Understand the critical module parameters that contribute to system level attribute performance (functional decomposition) on Heat Pump and Air Vented Dryers.

Strong partnership with the drying cycle development team to enable the system level performance attributes.

Develop multiple concepts and utilize Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), design verification plans and risk assessment tools to assist in decision making.

Develop new and improve existing test methods and test plans for performance validation.

Develop and capture knowledge required to deliver design excellence

Technical project management including Schedule, Scope, and Risk management related to components owned.

Minimum requirements:

-
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
-
1+ year in product design of consumer goods or relevant Industry.

Preferred skills and experiences:

-
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
-
Black Belt/Opex/Six Sigma experience
-
Demonstrated Experience of Risk Management, and Project Management
-
Ability to communicate and drive high level agreement globally with cross-team and cross-functional partners.

Strong sense of accountability, critical thinking, issue follow-up, and resolution skills
