Job Description Summary:

This role will work with EPMs/CAMs/Leads to maximize efficiency in the existing planning process including: creation of updates to current IMS / tasks for accurate tracking of project performance, perform the needed rhythm for project status, forecast updates, actuals reporting, baseline changes, and other scenarios related to Project Management.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing engineering / technology projects. Interfaces with internal/external customers to ensure appropriate resources allocation. Accountable to deliver the scope of work to the original cost estimate. Responsible to Manage schedule, budget and integration of NPI and/or requisition projects, including leading the team to meet customer CTQs and hit tollgate milestones. Project is often a component of a program.
  • Maintain the project integrated master schedule (IMS) and facilitate Earned Value analysis/reporting
  • Provide project performance analysis, including the tracking of any deviations from the approved baseline
  • Coordinate across multiple groups including functional engineering, global sites, customers and administrative areas.
  • Use judgment to make decisions and solve medium to complex tasks/problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support decisions. Uses multiple internal and external sources to arrive at decisions.
  • Generate regular project performance reports (monthly)
  • Assist with project resource plans coordination across multiple programs
  • Assist with the definition of Project Control Accounts and Work Packages
  • Collect input from Engineers to report weekly progress.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource constraints. Ability to explain difficult or sensitive information; Capable to coordinate communication and build consensus. Influencing skills required to influence others on specific project topics.
  • Assess schedule health using metrics and/or other indicators to drive Schedule improvements

Required Qualifications

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education
  • Experience in engineering project planning, analysis, and cost control
  • Desired proficiency in MS Project
  • Desired knowledge Creating Schedules in Deltek Open Plan and integrating into Cobra
  • Strong team player with positive attitude
  • Ability to work closely with engineers and participate in technical discussions to understanding project tasks and track progress
  • It is desired, but not required, to have a PMP certification or have Formal PMBOK
  • Aggressively drive a sense of ownership and accountability for schedule data and supporting processes

Desired Characteristics

  • Desirable Project Management Certification (ex. PMP) or have an understanding of PMBOK principles/relevant coursework
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
