    Position Summary

    :

    This position is for a function software developer role in the Advanced Engineering group situated in Monterrey Mexico. Responsibilities include modular design of necessary functions to perform complex operations in an air-braked tractor-trailer commercial vehicle environment. Specification of boundary conditions, and implementing functions in a Matlab/Simulink environment for HIL/SIL/bench testing. Also, final implementation in standalone ECU for full vehicle testing of performance and evaluation.

    Essential Functions:


    • Work as part of a team to define overall system architecture and necessary functions.

    • Ensure workbench HIL/SIL accurately reflects system architecture.

    • Define needed functions to achieve desired vehicle dynamics targets overall.

    • Develop input/output requirements, design needed functionality using industry tools (e.g. Matlab/Simulink).

    • Develop, test, analyze results of modules and subsystems in the context of full system operation using HIL/SIL workbench.

    • Implement operation onto standalone ECU, and verify proper operation in on-vehicle environment, including proper subsystem interaction.

    • Work closely with wider KB Global Advanced Engineering team, to participate in detailed project reviews.

    Knowledge:


    • Programming of HW close SW, C-programming, revision control, HIL simulator-based testing.

    • Vehicle dynamics and control limitations of articulated vehicles.

    • Knowledge of air-braked commercial vehicle ADAS systems a plus.

    • Knowledge of air-brake systems a plus.

    • Data acquisition & control, test equipment & instrumentation, test standards & procedure development.

    • Document control methods with systems for engineering drawings, specifications, test procedures, test reports.

    • Able to evaluate test data and create valid, actionable conclusions.

    • Confident with technical presentations to internal and external customers.

    • Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis; as these pertain to component and system-level risk a plus.

    Experience:


    • At least 8 years related engineering experience with progressively responsible positions.

    • Experience with control systems, signal processing, function design.

    • Experience with electronic hardware design a plus.

    Skills:


    • Proficient in Matlab, Simulink, Trucksim/Carsim type tools.

    • Proficient in vehicle communications tools, such as SAE J CAN.

    • Proficient in rapid prototyping tools, such as dSPACE AutoBox.

    • Good Creativity and Ideation skills for innovative solutions.

    • Has good knowledge transfer skills to ensure team focus and effectiveness.

    Education:


    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with required with 8 years' experience.

    • Additional degrees/certifications related to Automotive Engineering a plus.
