Job Purpose

The Business Info Specialist I is a key Business Intelligence position within the Global Process Excellence Business unit.

This position has the primary accountabilities of managing key Customer and Asset Information as well as the processes and procedures required to successfully maintain the Common Data in Enterprise Systems.

The role also provides project leadership in the management of processes and data changes required for dynamic business realignment (Such as District/Regional realignments) and development of training and reference material.

The Business Info Specialist I is an office position that works with internal customers and reports to the GES Group Manager.

This position is primarily engaged with the business information management group and data users at peer levels.

Beyond the completion of their own work, this position may teach and advise others as part of this assignment. They are required to build and improve contacts and to establish new and substantial business relationships.

This position works under general supervision. They will follow established procedures. Their work may be reviewed by more experience personnel


A Business Info Specialist I is responsible for the processes and procedures that ensure the master data in Enterprise systems continues to support the needed business processes, transactions, business reporting and control.

This position will use the principles and concepts of data management to develop solutions to problems of limited scope and follow up on assignments.

A significant element of the role is to drive continual improvement in the processes and systems and communicate those changes to end users through training and reference material.

They will work with multiple departments across an organization in order to resolve problems and implement process improvements. Microsoft Office and access to enterprise systems (Baan5C, ERP LN, etc.) are required to support daily tasks.

This position helps to maintain quality and technical performance of assigned data management tasks. They follow and execute assigned data management responsibilities. They may formulate own action plan to meet defined business goals. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on data quality


Significant challenges of this position are the ability to gather all of the required information across business units to ensure complete and accurate enterprise master data.

Principal Accountabilities

The Business Info Specialist I position is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of tasks for the following major functions:
Create and maintain customer and customer asset master data within Solar's Growth Enabling Systems (i.e. ERP, WFM) to ensure quality and consistency between all growth enabling systems

Provide support for data issue resolution

Provide resolution of domestic data issues and the coordination of domestic data corrections


Assists service centers and IT personnel in obtaining answers to process related questions from the domestic Process Owners and domestic customers.

Support enterprise data improvement projects

Participate in system change requests

Support development, testing and training

Participate in improvement projects of functional support processes.

Maintaining high visibility to end-users with the goal to consult on process options and head off potential IT solution problems.


Qualifications:


Knowledge/skill requirements for this position include:
Very good communication skills

Education:
An Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred or equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year
