For our client, a leading global organization within the manufacturing industry, we are looking for a
LOGISTICS MANAGER.


Mission:

Guarantee the feasibility of commercial requests (volumes, mix, etc.) based on plant industrial capacity and boundaries.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Definition of inventory levels, implementation and monitoring of compliance with the inventory objective; according to the conditions of suppliers, customer requirements and needs of the company
  • Prior to each MRP, analysis of customer requirements regarding production capacity and availability of materials. MPS Board
  • Implementation of action plans with planners to correct any incident with customers and suppliers
  • Review of critical component requirements (by cost and / or delivery)
  • Internal logistics to reduce available inventory on assembly line
  • Implement new packaging solutions according to Logistic and Production needs;
  • Implement Transport Process Projects in order to improve the plant efficiency
  • Responsible for overseeing the plant inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels, eliminating obsolete and offspec material, and reduce aging material;
  • Ensure the analysis of packaging modalities.
  • Overall control of Plant Logistics planning team. Responsible for ensuring production schedules are leveled and achievable and reliably match the supply of raw materials and components from external suppliers
  • Responsible of daily warehouse performance like inbound quota, outbound quota, shipping quality and claims quota daily review and maintenance of KPIs,
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding transportation, including hazardous materials;
  • Elaborate with Quality and Production Supervisors the best designed packaging layout in order to ensure the quality and integrity of the end product and to reduce the amount of scraps;
  • Ability to define logistic parameters both for direct and indirect materials according to assembly lines features/constrains in a plant/warehouse/depot;
  • Ability to use reports and metrics which analyze opportunities for savings and improvements, shipment frequencies & issues, claims issues and customer/supplier routing efficiencies;
  • Ability to elaborate industrial planning and ensure the material planning definition based on production plan and Bill of Materials;
  • Ability to cooperate with functional or operational area managers for what concerns transport scheduling with the current and anticipated demand for product;
  • Ability to calculate the best trades in order to optimize logistic flow and be able to analyze the plan in order to find more efficient material flows method in terms of manpower handling;
  • Rolling forecast planning.
  • Overall accountability for ensuring the SAP master data required for production and supplier schedules is fully accurate
  • Create, manage and achieve the overall logistics and customer service department budgets;
  • Critical reading of indicators regarding the cost of auxiliary materials ( costs of maintenance, costs of indirect materials, costs of scrap, );
  • Knowledge and contribution to the definition of the Plant budget and budget of the Logistics
  • Establish monthly KPI's to measure performance and set goals to improve service, cost and processes.
  • Coordinate logistics activities, through the Logistics and Planning team
  • Coordinate and evaluate with the planners the engineering changes, ramp up and end of production of models in order to avoid obsolete or missing material in some phase of the project. Implement actions with the different areas, the client and suppliers to reduce the risk of any problem along the logistics chain
  • Guarantee together with the gliders, the efficiency when the materials arrive
  • Preparation of reports on inventory levels and action plans
  • Planning with the personnel area of employee training
  • Update and maintain the quality system in all areas of the department
  • Implement, sustain and improve 5S through the production floor
  • Implement, sustain and improve level of cleaning through equipment, process records and logistics records through the process.
  • Implement, sustain and improve kaizen methodology
  • Implement, sustain and improve warehouse management
  • Implement savings plan on Transportation
  • Inventories and inventory turnover.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Education preferred: Mechanical/Management/Logistics Engineering Degree
  • English & Spanish fluent
Years in Automotive Industry in logistics management
