Responsibilities:


  • Develop all applicable civil and structural engineering design for different projects and initiatives. This scope includes but it is not limited to low volume interconnections, filtration systems, remediations, operations, pipeline, and facilities projects, access roads, etc.
  • Prepare technical scopes to contract engineering packages when applicable.
  • Review of civil and structural engineering developed by third party contractors or potential customers.
  • Responsible for developing all the civil engineering including foundations, concrete, structures, supports, platforms for different projects.
  • Responsible for developing scopes of work for the reconditioning/repair of access roads to facilities (stations, MLVs, etc.).
  • Prepare civil engineering sketches and drawings, perform engineering calculations, and develop analysis models for moderately complex project assignments. Prepare, review and/or approve vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications.
  • Technical support during excavations if needed.
  • Active participation in remediation projects such as installation of civil and structural protection over the pipeline, geotechnical remediations, river crossings, etc.
  • Provide technical support in the evaluation of crossings by Integrity (roads, structures, etc.).
  • Evaluation/proposal from a civil engineering perspective of the proposed changes to the facilities (supports, change in the height of the perimeter fence, etc.).
  • Assure the successful execution of the civil design engineering scope of the projects in time and cost according to TC Energy standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Mexico design standards for civil and structural engineering updated and ensure compliance with Mexican regulation and considering the lessons learned.
  • Participation/development of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP).
  • Participation in Management of Changes processes for technical (integrity, measurement, interconnection, filtration) projects.
  • Responsible for updating existing civil and structural engineering information whenever required (drawings, alignment sheets, layouts, crossing details, foundations, structure, design basis, etc.)
  • Participation in the PTM (Project Turnover Memorandum) process, to ensure the quality of the engineering information that passes to Operations.
  • Interact with the Integrity SME ́s (Subject Matter Experts) to optimize and update the civil and structural engineering standards and the existing threat programs.
  • Interact and provide service effectively to different internal stakeholders such as Operations, Integrity, projects, Commercial, among others.
  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Represent TC Energy on external industry committees.
  • Promote and support the compliance of the Safety RoadMap to strength the engineering as driver of the process safety culture and leadership in TC Energy.
Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Between 812 years of experience in the Oil, Gas or Chemical sector, with pipeline and facility civil and structural engineering design.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Foundation and structural design experience.
  • Experience in working with road projects, highways (access roads).
  • Specialized knowledge in the civil and structural engineering area, especially in the previously mentioned projects, such as interconnections, filtration systems, remediations, facilities changes.
  • Experience in topographic studies, soil mechanics, and geotechnics.
  • Detailed working knowledge of safety practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform civil and structural engineering and design including risk assessment practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the standards and procedures governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform engineering projects implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proficient in the utilization of related softwares as Autocad and Civil 3D, STAAD PRO, Global Mapper, ArcGIS, Navisworks.
  • Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in natural gas pipelines (mainline and facilities) is desired.
  • Experience in operations is desired.
  • Experience in integrity projects, interconnections, temporary and permanent filtration projects.
