The Position

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for developing relationships with customers and growing accounts in his/her assigned territory through the promotion and selling of the company's products and services to businesses and distributors.

The individual will manage significant accounts and customers.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Cultivate new and expanded sales prospects and customer opportunities to achieve sales growth.
  • Routinely travel to visit new and existing customers and attend relevant trade shows.
  • Identify and properly qualify new business opportunities using available resources.
  • Provide customer support by responding to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Partner with current customers to ascertain current needs/requirements and generate additional sales.
  • Work closely with marketing/business development/manufacturing to recognize and promote sales opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and identify target individuals and organizations.
  • Provide technical support to clients, emphasizing longterm relationships.
  • Promote and position key strategic product and service offerings.
  • Ensure the Sales Forecasting Tool is current and updated with accurate customer and sales information.
  • Routinely pull and reference system reports to identify additional sales opportunities and enhance the pipeline.
  • Develop sales activity plans to optimize sales activities and achieve target sales performance.
  • Execute timely preparation of all expense reports, call reports, and assigned projects.
  • Remain uptodate on new product development, technology, and services offerings.
  • Keep management and sales team members informed of all relevant activity.

Experience
The Technical Sales Representative position is a position that requires a minimum of three years of work experience.

Education & Qualifications Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' of successful technical sales experience.
  • Selfstarter; motivated, and must be able to work independently as well as be teamfocused and resultsdriven.
  • Strong presentation, organizational and time management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, especially with customers and senior management.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Access and internal sales tools.
  • Strong technical skills; able to present technical concepts; provide customers with handson technique using our products.
  • Ability to travel within Mexico and parts of Latin America.
  • The TSR is required to possess technical knowledge of all marketed products and services as well as satisfactory sales skills to engage in the sale of Veltek products and services.
