Summary


Reporting to the General Manager HDLA, we are looking for an Operations Manager to be based in Mexico City, MX.

The Operations Manager will manage the daily Latin American operations for United Wheels Inc. in Mexico.


A solution-oriented expert for all supply chain, purchasing, inventory, distribution and their corresponding personnel needs is required for this position's success.

This position will manage the flow of goods on a global scale from multi-national suppliers, through multi-location distribution, to the customer.

The Operations Manager role will serve as a member of the United Wheels Inc. - Mexico. management team to provide input towards the company's success.


We are looking for an individual who has experience in managing a consumer goods supply chain network and has experience of dealing with Latin American retailers, distribution partners, and D2C operations.

A solid understanding of managing 3PL's is essential as well as working with cross-functional teams in different time zones.

You will need a strong leadership style and hands-on approach, along with an entrepreneurial spirit to get things done.

Highly organized with a proactive nature and comfortable with getting involved in all areas of the business to ensure success.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a clear and robust supply chain strategy. From Factory through to localized distribution networks. Initially for Mexico, then building a distribution strategy for key Latin America target markets. Lead the implementation project from start through to execution.
  • Be responsible for the operations budget and deliverables. Draw up and manage ongoing budgets, taking actions when needed to grow or expand and keep costs in line with expectations.
  • With the GM, create the 3PL briefing document and lead the 3PL selection process. Then full day to day management of the 3PL, ensuring it meets the agreed KPI's. Comanage 3PL distribution center.
  • Continuous analysis and improvement of existing operations, 3rd party relationships, and IT systems.
  • Working with US/Asia supply teams, manage all inbound stock & space management. Ensuring a robust and costeffective turnaround of stock.
  • Day to day management of all trade customers services. This will involve setting up trade retail partners accounts, pricing, systems (EDI) and inputting orders onto the local systems and managing day to day inquiries from trade partners from the order through to invoice.
  • Working with the global eCommerce team, support the D2C implementation from an operations standpoint. Assisting with order processing, shipments, payments, and consumer service and aftercare.
  • Work with Engineering, Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance daily to create crossdepartmental project collaboration for new, existing, and products phasing out.
  • Work with other departments to implement the group IT systems into the Latin American offices and ensure robust testing before launch.
  • Set up & oversee the consumer service area of the business. Set up the warranty, spare parts, and consumer advice departments. Handle escalated issues and promote brand protection.
  • Support the account receivable teams in the US as required. Invoice submissions to trade partners, payment chasing, and banking information.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the office. Stationary, supplies, visitors, etc
  • Build a dedicated Operations team, focused on delivering a gold standard service to trade partners and consumers.
