Overview:

Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Collaboration: Actively engage with business stakeholders to deeply understand their analytic needs, challenges, and objectives. Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and ensure the alignment of BI solutions with business goals.

Solution Design and Development: Design and develop comprehensive Power BI analytics solutions that effectively utilize data warehouse and data lake technologies. Ensure solutions are scalable, performance-optimized, and meet the strategic needs of the business.

Data Integration and Management: Architect and implement robust data models by integrating data from various sources, including data warehouses and data lakes. Utilize ETL processes and data integration tools to ensure data accuracy and availability.

Advanced Analytics Implementation: Incorporate advanced analytics and machine learning models into Power BI reports and dashboards, enhancing decision-making and providing predictive insights to stakeholders.

Performance Tuning and Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of Power BI solutions, ensuring they are efficient and scalable. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to data quality, report performance, and user access.

Best Practices and Standards: Establish and enforce best practices for Power BI development, data modeling, and data governance. Create standards for documentation and ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.

Leadership and Mentorship: Lead project teams and initiatives within the BI domain, providing guidance and mentorship to junior developers and analysts. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team.

Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in business intelligence, data warehousing, and data lakes. Evaluate and recommend new tools and approaches to enhance analytic capabilities and drive business value.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience developing complex dashboards and reports in Power BI, including custom visualizations, DAX queries, and Power Query.
  • Indepth knowledge of Azure services related to analytics and data storage, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience using Databricks for big data analytics, understanding of Databricks SQL, Delta Lake, and experience in integrating Databricks with Power BI for realtime analytics and reporting.
  • Strong background in data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling, star schema, and snowflake schema designs. Experience in developing and maintaining data warehouses.
  • Expertlevel SQL skills for querying, data manipulation, and managing databases. Familiarity with other database technologies (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data integration and ETL tools such as Alteryx, Knime, or similar.
  • Strong experience with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis, manipulation, and automation within the Databricks environment and for custom scripting in Power BI.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and the ability to integrate machine learning models into Power BI reports for predictive analytics and data insights. Experience with Azure Machine Learning or similar platforms to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate vast amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with both technical and nontechnical teams.
