Resumen de Posición:
Under the direction of the IP ESH&S Director or Sr.

ESH Manager, the Business or Site ESH Manager partners to develop and implement ESH programs & initiatives for all current and future IP facilities within the scope of responsibility in order to ensure compliance, prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions, execute company programs; provides technical assistance to plant management for environmental and occupational health and safety-related issues and processes.


Responsabilidades Esenciales:
Conducts or coordinates EHS training to educate leaders, supervisors and workers about safety policies, laws, and practices. Develops employee training programs, emergency contingency plans, written safety communications plans and policies and procedures.


May matrix manage team of ESH (possibly sharing other functional responsibilities) in a site or business, partnering to effectively complete their and own responsibilities in support of the business.

Reports effectively to IP Director, ESH or Sr. Manager on all areas of responsibility.

Monitors environmental and safety regulations and legislation and advise management of requirements. Prepares and submits all reports required by regulations, statutes or ITT policies


Identify training needs and develop on-going employee training programs, Emergency Contingency Plan, written safety communications, facilitates Business Continuity Planning for the region, policies and procedures.

Participates as needed in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions and divestitures, and as a member of the ESH integration process


Develop and implement all activities with respect to area safety audits, personal protection equipment programs, and all other prevention programs.

Ensure that all facilities use proper procedures for hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.

Responsible for development/implementation of local administration of ITT Corporate policies regarding Environmental Safety & Health

Assists ITT corporate with special projects as required

Regularly review ongoing safety committee minutes and audit/inspection reports with site ESH coordinators

Participates in ITT corporate ESH&S audits and prepares own supported facility(ies) for same, including annual self assessments.

Empower first line supervision and management to implement multifaceted Environmental Safety and Health program. Attributes include machine safety, ergonomics, waste/emissions reduction, Job Safety Analysis and program assessment activities.

Examine plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been included (Environment, Safety. & Health Project Review form). Reviews plans for manufacturing process capital expenditures and operating changes for compliance with environmental and safety requirements. Assist facilities with incident investigations and root cause corrective action plans and corrective action implementation


Tours in scope operations (whether own site or multiple sites) periodically on a frequency sufficient to ensure ESH programs are functioning properly, identify/correct areas needing improvement and build an effective rapport with site teams.

Ensure daily presence in office to provide a consistent resource to local site and any other supported sites.


Requisitos del Puesto:

Education:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Engineering or the physical sciences, with


Experience:
Six to eight years experience and/or training in the global region; or equivalent combination of education and experience in environmental, health, safety


Skills/Knowledge:

Must be well versed in current government regulations and change mechanisms pertaining to environment, health and safety within the region.


Working effectively with site or business leadership as a conduit/facilitator to the ESH programs, performance and continuous improvement programs, and for leveraging ownership appropriately throughout the supported organization(s).

Effectively matrix-managing a team of remote non-reporting ESH and blended professionals.


Ability to manage ESH issues through a central software platform, ensuring accuracy in data entered and usability of data for decision-making and sound analysis.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, English required, in addition to any other languages, a plus.
