Eaton's AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer.


What you'll do:


Primary Function:

This position is responsible for executing the defined Strategic Quality Plan.

this position will have the responsibility to align the resources and evaluate their effectiveness to define actions to improve their performance and exceed their expectations.

Drives continuous improvement in quality while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Eaton Quality System (EQS), would lead Quality process team utilizing Lean/Six Sigma tools and corrective action teams using 8D methodologies.

Executes the Quality Assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements, and assuring compliance with the suppliers.


Essential Functions:


  • Effective management of the QA resources through Eaton Leadership Model.
  • Work as a team with the support departments in order to define necessary actions to meet customer requirements.
  • Support Eaton Initiatives and practices for the Development of People by using tools as the Succession Plans, OCA, QLI, CIF, APQP and EBS tools.
  • Provides Quality customer interface and expertise to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting in complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination.
  • Supports Supply Chain Management organization relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data providing expertise and assists suppliers with product and process quality requirements.
  • Participates in the auditing of internal Quality Systems and completes part approval documentation to assure that customer requirements are met in new or modified products and processes, including Suppliers' Quality Systems.
  • Participates in product development and launch activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material testing.
  • Investigates and eliminates causes of quality problems and follows up on corrective actions, including issues with suppliers.
  • Participates in the design, procurement, maintenance, and evaluation of gages, measurement instruments, devices and test equipment.
  • Participate in the Customer Scorecards Review and support actions to improve their satisfactions as applicable
  • Coordinate evaluations in the supplier performance to address those where risks are being identified with the Supplier Quality Team.
  • Support with the implementation and sustain for the Quality Initiatives, including PPAP and CAPA processes to support the Quality Lead Indicators.

Qualifications:


Basic qualifications:


  • 5 years Quality System experience in Aerospace Industry Preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Bilingual English/ Spanish
  • Computer Skills
  • Blueprint reading knowledge

Preferred Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position):

  • Understanding of problem-solving methods (Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis)
  • Good communication skills
  • High Level of Interpersonal skill to work effectively with others.
  • Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality registration schemes and certification processes (ISO9001, AS9100)
  • Previous Aerospace experience preferred.
  • Green belt certified.
  • MS or MBA
