Eaton's VEH EMB eMobility division is currently seeking a SMT Manufacturing Engineer.


What you'll do:


Responsible to design, validate and implement SMT manufacturing systems; including process documentation, control and optimization through the life of the product.

An Engineer seeks and promotes the continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes on current and transfers businesses.

Supports Production Area, contribute to the SQDCI metrics of the focus factory.

Participate on required meetings related to the focus factory, participates in safety assessments and generate JSA and MOC (Job safety analysis and Management of changes).

Manages SMT technicians for production support, program development, NPI support and other.

Create, design, validate and implement manufacturing systems (assembly lines) including documentation (PFMEA, WIs, flow chart, procedures) and establishes and implement process controls.

Participate on quality system improvements and implement changes accordingly through the APQP methodology.
Develop and implement tools as per new or revised requirements (standard tooling) and new design fixtures for assembly (fixtures, stencils)
Establishes preventive maintenance program for new assembly systems or stations.
Deals with process abnormities, improves pass rate and decrease rejection rate and evaluates new components.
Develop and implement Industry 4.0 initiatives linked to an automotive mindset.
Develop and implement product/process changes such as MCO's, deviations and validations.

Seeks and promotes the continuous improvement (Lean manufacturing system), Uses daily production data (yields/thru-put/etc.) to develop and execute corrective actions plans to drive continuous improvement.

Routing management in the ERP system (SAP), Participate during layout changes.


EHS Responsibilities:
Report any activity that may jeopardize my safety and the environment.
Identify and properly dispose all the chemicals that may contaminate the environment.
Ensure the correct container for the disposal of hazardous waste (identified containers and containers to prevent spills).

Report the entry of new Chemicals required for Maintenance purposes due to maintain a record updated and assure the compliance of the correct handling of them.

Contain oil spills and repair as necessary.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics or Mechanics (or similar).
3 years minumum of experience in SMT manufacturing and equipment areas and/or similar position.
Experience/knowledge with process and equipment validation, PFEMA, process flow, APQP, etc.
Strong knowledge in IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/21. Basic knowledge on CQI-17.


Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, leadershil skills, proactive, strong organization and analytical thinker.
