Context/Scope:

  • Diageo is the world's leading premium drinks business with an outstanding collection of beverage alcohol brands across the spirits, wine and beer categories. These brands include Don Julio, Johnnie Walker, Buchanan ́s, Black and White, Captain Morgan, Zacapa, Ciroc, Ketel One, Baileys, J&B and Tanqueray.
  • Diageo Mexico Supply is accountable for local manufacturing and production of Tequila Don Julio, Casamigo, Zacapa and other global brands. Tequila Don Julio and Casamigo have seen a dramatic increase on domestic and export sales driving sustained double digit growth, with forecast sales volumes exceeding plant capacity.

Purpose of role:

  • Leads programs in Innovation and Brand Change to support new to world growth, brand redesign initiatives and VAPS
  • Deliver against the following critical metrics
  • On time in full
  • Achieve COGS targets as measured via Gate
  • Meets Diageo Quality Standards
  • On budget as agreed to at Gate
  • Robust and accurate packaging specifications that are fit to purpose with line capabilities
  • Role reports to the Global Technical
  • Role covers products manufactured within the Mexico Supply Chain including Zacapa in Guatemala
  • The role specifically delivers wide ranging deep technical support to Mexico Supply Chain
  • Provides creative solutions to commercialization challenges
  • Builds great relationships within customers in Supply and Demand
  • Provides individual oversight to high complexity programs
  • Applies strong project management skills to develop and handle project timelines, addresses technical and resourcing challenges and ensures risk profiles and mitigation plans are developed and implemented for each project.
  • Conducts the technical development/due diligence of packaging components, inclusive of creation/routing/approval of any/all package specifications.
  • Provides Supply input and commercial grounding during project development phases, driving resolution of commercialization hurdles that may arise and handling regular project communications to Supply and Demand project sponsors, Technical Operations and the broader Supply community.
  • Key relationships built with Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement and Across Technical

Qualifications:

  • University degree required in a Technical Field.
  • English & Spanish preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in product development and change, operations and scientific services, preferably in the beverage/alcohol business or CPG companies.
  • Strong discernment, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Consumer Packaging/manufacturing experience required
  • Able to implement CAPEX and engineering driven initiatives
  • Experience building financial operating plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate: MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint. Excellent data management. SAP.
