Plant Quality Engineering responsible to accomplish and meet the company specifications, standards, functional objectives in the product.

  • Responsible and owner of Customer external KPI ́s 1MIS and 3MIS; contributor to Plant KPI's improvement such as DR, SCA, DVX.
  • Act as permanent link between Product Development (USA, Italy, Mexico) and Plant Manufacturing to coordinate the improvements and product changes, communication and business decisions; with the responsibility to drive the plant actions.
  • Protect the Customer through effective plant containments, inspection controls in the QVS or Cert line and lead the permanent corrective actions from the plant with the different responsible.
  • Conduct customer risk assessments to determine the need for yard holds, including PRI's or Field Actions; plant representation in the technical calls, validate inspection and repair procedures, manage suspect vehicles control, clean points, recovery glide paths.
  • Manage the Product Engineering changes process, parts validation in the process through PER (Product Evaluation Request), and the CN (Change Request) process for plant implementation of a new part which includes team integration (Manufacturing, IE, MLM), plant bulletin and to ensure that the change will perform as planned in a production environment.
  • Lead the Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis for process, parts or product issues impacting the KPI ́s using formal techniques and methodology like GB/BB, Six Sigma, Advanced/Major Kaizen, etc, to determine issue responsibility whether Process, Supplier or Design and quick off the action plan.
  • Participate in the MY Launch process, from the new product digital build to identify issues in early step of the program to the plant physical builds in VP, PS phases; responsible to develop and execute the Quality Plan for the MY launch including Q-Teams for quality performance tracking during pilots build; identification of the Engineering responsibility issue impacting the plant, set glide paths to improve before V1; lead the Corporate SAQ for the pilot/launch issues assigned to Plant Manufacturing; support the plant during the new MY launch and validate all the Engineering Standards are met; support the launch containment for critical issues, inspection/repair procedures and vehicles disposition
  • Identify and initiate temporary product deviations to resolve Customer or Manufacturing concerns using TSA/IAA.
  • Identify any Engineering Responsibility issues impacting SCA audits; lead problem resolution using the GIM system process to document root cause, interim and permanent corrective actions.
  • Elaborate and assure compliance of Quality plans for critical components or processes; support the proactive Quality thru PFMEA ́s for significant MY launches, new projects or V2 high impact changes.
  • Lead the customer satisfaction through the use of the Red Room to track the corrective actions for critical problems in timely manner and develop Kaizen projects and perform reviews with the Plant Management.
  • Assist in the correction of Supplier Quality issues, including need for incoming part sorting through Supplier Table and stock purges, certify the 3CPR procedures.
  • Participate in "Best Practice" sharing and collaboration between plants/platforms.
  • Support Process/Manufacturing to identify processes that are not capable and formulate an action plan (as team) to bring the process into conformance with mínimal resources and timing.
  • Support Plant MQAS, MQGR documentation, certification and audit programs as required to guarantee all requirements in compliance.
  • Participate the Continuous Improvement initiatives and activities (workshops, problemsolving teams, process studies, parts analysis, quality control systems, etc).
  • Conduct the process conformance surveys through Process Observations to identify non conformance to Corporate requirements such as PS, MS, MQGR; continuously seeking for appropriate variability reduction/complexity reduction plans through recommendations to modify processes, design and/or tooling.
  • Seek for Error/Mistake proofing processes, components, devices to guarantee zero risks.
  • Conduct regular vehicle reviews and Yard audits to identify potential leaks to the Customer.
  • Help the torque control issues resolution.
  • Business Unit Leader responsible for a group of Engineers in the Quality Engineering Organization.
Engineering degree Electronic, Mechatronic or equivalent. 8 years experience in Automotive industry. Strong knowledge in Product & Quality systems. Problem Solver with strong analytic skills. Product Engineering systems knowledge CN, IAA, STV, EBOM, Team Center, PS. Quality systems knowledge SPC, Plan Control, PFMEA, WIS, FEW. English written and spoken, capable to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels. Leadership skills focused on results. Communication and relationship skills.
