Objective
Maintain, control, and analyze accounting records correctly and in the corresponding period according to the Group's accounting policies, IFRS and Mexican financial information rules.
Make the monthly accounting close and coordinate with the different finance departments in Mexico (taxes, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Plant Controllers) to ensure the quality, integrity, and actual support of the accounting records, considering corporate's requests for financial information.
Responsibilities/Skills
- Responsible for the quality, integrity and accuracy of the results statement and balance sheet figures of the PKC North America Group companies that are in accordance with appropriate accounting standards and procedures.
- Post manual transactions that did not enter through the PLEX and Oracle systems. Ensure that the records are uptodate and correctly presented in the posting period they pertain to.
- Identify areas of opportunity, risk, or rework to communicate to the department and process that it is with deficiencies. Ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
- Support finance departments such as taxes, payroll, travel expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury through financial analysis during the monthly close or with manual accounting records when they cannot be prepared through PLEX and Oracle systems.
- Analyze the current internal controls that the companies' finance departments must follow according to financial policies of North America to protect the company from accounting material mistakes, damage, or loss of assets, as well as vulnerability in safeguarding accounting records and legal documents.
- Prepare essential financial calculations to reflect the business activities of the company. Sales, changing loss/gain, depreciation, amortization, etc.
- Support the MSC departments, taxes, and payroll during financial audits (quarterly and annual), fiscal and internal audits.
- Prepare during the monthly closing, analysis of balance sheet accounts and results to detect accounting inconsistences, process failures, or impact to the integrity of accounting records.
- Comply with the environmental, safety and health requirements set out in the legislation and regulations related to our activities and products, as well as those EHS requirements established by the community, our customers, and others to which we subscribe.
Required Profile
Education and Experience
- Public Accountant
- Courses or diploma in Costs, IFRS and Taxes
- Preferred
- 3 years in the finance department, preferably as accounting analyst
Skills/Knowledge Requirements
- Intermediate English
- Knowledge in ERP (Preferred Plex and Cognos)
- Advanced Office (Word, PPT, Excel)
Technical/Business Knowledge
- Knowledge of IFRS (Basic)
- Work for companies in the manufacturing sector (preferred)
- Interaction with international companies (preferred)
