The role will be the owner for assigned CEDM products; accountable for ensuring products are created to meet the needs of

the business. The role replaces group-think and order-taking with clear advocacy to allow us to anticipate demand, and to

deliver at speed and with confidence.

The role will use their IT expertise, bio-pharma industry trends and in-depth understanding of AZ business priorities to

ensure accurate specification & delivery of products, platforms & capabilities that meet the needs of all relevant areas of

AstraZeneca. The role will develop relationships with colleagues across all relevant business units and partner to achieve

and exceed business objectives. This role will define & describe a vision for innovative technology solutions, to create

maximum competitive advantage, focused on high impact business outcomes.

The role will be accountable for the successful transition from roadmap through backlog to product offering, working

closely with the Capability teams and and the Access & Value team to maximize ROI across the product set. role will work as

part of a team of product owners who share responsibility across all aspects of the Commercial Excellence & Digital

Marketing product suite. The role will contribute to the development best practices in relevant communities of practice.


Typical Accountabilities

  • Develop user stories which allow SSD to deliver accurately & efficiently against capability ambition.
  • Provide validation, clarification and challenge to improve product quality.
  • Work closely with capability leads to inform roadmap development and backlog prioritzation
  • Work closely with capability leads to understand and develop context and expected use for products.
  • Work closely with Access & Value team to ensure accurate handover & maximize value.
  • Work closely with SSD teams to maximize delivery velocity & quality.
  • Work with commercial users and with business engagement teams to enrich & improve understanding of context
- in which products are/will be used.

  • Support IT functional/capability governance including steering groups and advisory boards for all relevant
- initiatives.

  • Ensure the wider IT strategy is clearly communicated to colleagues wherever applicable.
  • Support management of IT demand with the business, negotiating expectations to ensure alignment with IT
- strategy, architecture and delivery capacity

  • Gain broad commitment to IT across initiatives from colleagues & stakeholders across all relevant business units,
- using specialist knowledge identify relevance of established or new IT services

  • Proactively identify opportunities through internal and external networks, for IT to deliver innovative solutions to
- customer issues/challenges and situations where leading edge technological innovations can be deployed.

  • Support IT functional/capability governance including steering groups and advisory boards for all relevant
- initiatives.

  • Identify & capitalise on opportunities for Ideation and Innovation supporting delivery of MVPs to continually
- improve and/or transform the business area

  • Own the IT Solutions/Products for the capability area working with relevant stakeholders to drive the feature
- backlogs and prioritisation.

  • Ensure the successful outcome from delivery of programs and projects for the Deliver functional area.
  • Collaborate with with relevant stakeholders to ensure the development of business cases, support adoption and
- ensure robust ROI and TCO of solutions/products.

  • Ensure & support appropriate use of all relevant ways of working across IT.
  • Work collaboratively with all relevant collaborators & stakeholders including but not limited to Business and IT
- colleagues, Portfolio Managers and business areas, Business performance leaders, Capability teams and Regional
- teams across Commercial, Architecture leaders and SDD.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience of successful working in an Agile/SCRUM methodology
  • Proven experience of successfully deploying a variety of business analysis tools/techniques to enable business change
  • Proven experience of working with complex integrate systems, using creative and strategic thinking to deliver exceptional results
  • Experience of identification and implementation of innovative technology solutions
  • Evidence of contribution to development of innovative solutions
  • Experience of contribution to business strategies and influencing the vision of senior leaders
  • Experience of supporting development of high value business cases & mobilizing high value investments
