TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts.

They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required.

They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

What your background should look like:

This position reports to the Purchasing Manager for the Mexico Region who reports to the Director of Americas Indirect Procurement.

In general, it is expected this position provides an execution of the contracts set up by the Sourcing teams and Commodity Managers; actively perform the tactical work while looking in process improvements to drive changes to move in the Global Procurement Strategy.

It is also expected to work on project savings as a result of the tactical function and follow Corporate and B.U.

policies and procedures.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Responsible for obtaining indirect materials, equipment and services.
Gathers quotations, examines bids, and makes awards.
Performs cost analysis and volume planning for commodities and specifically for Facilities Commodity.
Evaluates vendor reliability, developing new supply sources where required.
Coordinates purchasing activities with facilities and engineering departments to support Operations.
Monitors cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts or purchasing orders to assure best quality at best value.
Recommends cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.
Responsible for meeting and desirable exceeding expectations regarding the Indirect Procurement metrics, including but not limited to productivity, quality, delivery, consolidation of suppliers and driving the spend with TE ́s preferred and strategic suppliers.
