    Power Electronics Control System Engineer

    Location: Fargo, ND

    Client: ACTALENT

    Job Type: Full- time

    Role Overview

    We are looking for a Power Electronics Control System Engineer to design and develop electrification control solutions at component and system levels using a model-based design approach. The role involves simulation, testing, and validation of control algorithms for electric drive and vehicle systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop control algorithms for electrified systems using model-based design
    • Perform analysis, simulation, HIL, lab, and field testing for validation
    • Define and refine control system requirements with stakeholders
    • Conduct electric drive and vehicle system simulations for performance evaluation

    Required Skills

    • 1+ year experience in power electronics or control algorithm development
    • Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape
    • Experience simulating power electronics, electric machines, or control systems
    • Good written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred Skills

    • Hands-on testing with electric motors or power electronics
    • Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing experience
    • Auto-code generation and embedded implementation on microcontrollers/FPGAs
    • Knowledge of version control and Agile workflows
    • Experience in advanced control techniques (observers, MPC, filters)
    • Research or design experience in power electronics control

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Physics Engineering (required)
    • Master's degree in Power Electronics or Control Systems (preferred)
