    We are looking for a to join our team. Based in the City of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, reporting to QA Manager, you will be responsible for Provides assurance that received product is conforming to functional and specific requirements as specified on drawings and other contracts such as PPAP and material specifications. Recover all costs of quality associated with supplier issues. He has the responsibility and authority to comply with all quality related activities and must comply with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO-9001. Contribute to compliance with assigned programming.

  • Coordinate Supplier Quality group, assure suppliers are held responsible for quality issues created by them.
  • Hold conference calls with suppliers regarding poor quality issues, travel to supplier locations to audit and confirm supplier corrective actions are implemented and assure incoming inspection of received material is focused on key suppliers, key issues from statistically driven data.
  • Problem solving to determine root cause of potential supplier issues and support to production floor.
  • Must assure MRB is kept at minimum levels and set max dollar limits for MRB are met. Communicate with suppliers as needed and assure they key supply base is measured for performance "report card".
  • Should be the lead auditor and coordinator of Internal Quality System "IATF 16949" and help assure customer specific requirements are met.
  • Monitor and assure the supply base has approved PPAP's for every part supplied and evaluate supplier performance, corrective action, and PPAP submissions.
  • Must help assure Prestolite Selected Suppliers meet APQP requirements.
  • Conduct Internal audits to the IATF standard, help coach and train others to audit, Conduct and coordinate Layered audits, Training of key elements required of internal auditors.
  • Personally provide leadership for department and the production floor through a positive attitude towards all work-related activities and by keeping all departments informed of supply base events. Assures that the quality level of suppliers is carefully monitored and reported as to working toward zero defects to the customer.
  • Succession Plan to supplier quality management.
  • Continuous improvement both in Quality and Cost through Kaizen and Lean Implementation.
  • Responsible for overall implementation of programs and adherence to local and corporate safety policies.
  • Periodic visits to Suppliers to resolve, verify, or follow-up quality issues.

    • Who are we looking for?

    We are looking for:

  • 4-year technical bachelor's degree. Master's degree desirable.3 months of manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years Supervisory experience, preferably in automotive related industry. Basic math knowledge: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions
  • Basic understanding of O.E.M. (Original Equipment Manufacturing) quality requirements and their effect on a manufacturing system. Working knowledge of O.E.M. vendor quality, programs, and customers. Formal training in statistical process control. English/Spanish bilingual, proficiency in Spanish and English. Knowledge in organizational quality objectives.
  • Ability to make basic and routine operational decisions, Ability to decide quickly about acceptance/rejection criteria. Able to interact with other departmental representatives to find the best answer to questions and problems related to the Quality of the product.
  • Ability to close production lines in case of contingencies that put the safety of employees or the quality of the products at risk.
