Your role at Baxter

As a Senior Specialist, you are responsible for building a reliable network to support Baxter's business units and manufacturing sites.

Strong hands-on technical expertise in modern datacenter and architectures with a focus on network automation.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team or individually as required.
  • Solid documentation skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience with taking projects from planning through to completion.
  • Capacity to juggle a mixture of breakfix and project work, managing individual priorities and deadlines.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the design effort in support of the company's wired and wireless infrastructure in the regional footprint of data centers and offices.
  • Optimize stability, availability, security, reliability, and performance of networking infrastructure.
  • Implement and design LANs and VLANs and wireless networks.
  • Knowledge and experience with MPLS and SDWAN Services
  • Install, configure and maintain Local Area Network and Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) and wireless infrastructure in a multivendor environment, including but not limited to: Cisco and Aruba/HPE routers, switches, access points, wireless controllers and F5 Load Balancers
  • Experience with Cisco routing and switching technology.
  • Indepth knowledge of TCP/IP and communications protocols
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting for Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) firewalls
  • Knowledge of configuring wireless and VPN technology
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9300, 4500, 9400; Nexus 3K, 5K, 7K and 9K; ISR4400 and ASR1000
  • Familiarity with Cat 6 and fiber optic cabling for network communications capabilities
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Configure Direct Internet Access and MPLS services for WAN edge routers.
  • Troubleshoot BGP routing technology.
  • Lead or assist in resolving escalated incidents from the Baxter Network Intelligence Center.
  • Collaborate with internal groups to achieve successful delivery and avoid/mitigate adverse outcomes.
  • Define key reporting metrics to communicate deployment and network successes to the organization and executive management.
  • Work with leaders and endusers across disciplines to select appropriate technologies to meet core organizational needs.
  • Lead configuration and deployment of enterprise tools shared across the org, including initial and ongoing support.
  • Find opportunities for improvement within the network and make recommendations based on best practices and observations.
  • Support, install, and configure network technology for data centers, remote offices, and remote employees.
  • The ability to work in a team or work independently on complex tasks with mínimal technical and management guidance is required.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and deliver status updates to project team on a frequent basis.
  • Experience with planning, designing, or executing network hardware infrastructure installations.
  • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
