    DNV's Energy Systems is seeking a Solar Project Engineer to join our team.

    This is a full-time position reporting to the Solar Team Leader for Latam.

    You'll be part of an-International Team of Solar Experts, providing Independent and Owners Engineering/Advisory services throughout the entire lifecycle of solar projects in Mexico, Central and South America.

    Additionally, you'll support colleagues in other countries across Europe , Africa and the Middle East. As an independent advisor, the Solar Project Engineeer will spend the majority of the time managing projects as well as conducting direct project work for customers.

    This position is based in our DNV office in Mexico City, Mexico. Local candidates only.

    What You'll Do
  • Project Manager. The Solar Project Engineer will be responsible for managing teams of engineers during the execution of independent engineering services for solar Projects. The role will require direct contact with the Customers as well as project control to deliver as per scope on time and budget.
  • Direct Project work. As part of the daily work, it is expected that the Solar Project Engineer will be involved in independent engineering tasks through the entire project lifecycle which may include energy production assessment, electrical DC and AC design review, technology review, feasibility studies, project contracts analysis, project costs and construction monitoring.
  • Commercial and Sales. The Solar Project Engineer will provide support to the Solar Team Leader on tracking business opportunities, market intelligence, develop services according to Industry needs and preparation of proposals.

    What Is Required

  • Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering or similar;
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the solar sector (preferable in consultancy or engineering companies).
  • Familiarity with technical due diligence processes for solar PV projects, which may include but is not limited to: site assessment, system design, energy estimates, equipment selection and contracts review.
  • Willingness to travel across the country and internationally;
  • Languages: Must be proficient in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
  • What Is Preferred

  • Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Experience with PVsyst as well as other energy simulation software
  • Experience with reviewing AC and DC electrical diagrams
  • Experience with grid connection regulation and technical assessments
  • Experience on Project Construction, Commissioning Procedures and Acceptance Tests and Conditions
  • Experience on Owners Engineering Services during project development and construction phases
  • Local and International experience on engineering and consultancy services for solar PV projects
  • Network in the solar industry will be also evaluated.
