Banking Channels - Subdirector:


Objective:

  • Development and delivery of selected aspects of the GLCM

Digital Strategy:
e.g.

  • Management and delivery of Channel based initiative.
  • Responsible for monetizing GPS Digital product suite through strategic actions and tactical initiatives (e.g. Pricing policy including creating preferential pricing policy, developing valued proposition, Comms, etc.)
  • Responsible for overall business continuity of channels (e.g. customer analytics/reporting, financial reporting, data requests, product pricing approvals, billing maintenance, invoice collection, compliance and BCC updates, complaints, etc.)

Activities:

  • The jobholder has responsibility for developing and delivering GLCM Digital solutions for clients
  • Products and Programmes are expected to deliver services on time on scope and on budget and to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • The job holder is responsible for all commercialization activity to position the product or service in the market
  • Customers / Stakeholders
  • Global Business Channel distribution strategy teams
  • Executive stakeholders across the business lines/product groups
  • Global Product areas across GPS, GTRF, Global Markets, Global Asset Management, Prime services, HSS etc.
  • Operations (local and global), Client Management, GSC
  • Close working relationship with IT requires a good knowledge and understanding of technology
  • To deliver Product and Services that fully meet internal control measures and which comply fully with Legal and Compliance and Regulatory requirements
  • To continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • In conjunction with Compliance department, to implement the Group Compliance policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant compliance department. The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
  • Broad understanding of all products across GPS; global business strategy; product management, programme management, technology and broader product areas across the bank
  • Good technical skills and understanding of IT processes and delivery cycles
  • Understanding of the Groups ATP and AOP process globally
  • Ability to manage stakeholders across multiple areas and across the globe
  • Managing across a complex matrix organisation
  • Management of the demands of different stakeholders across different businesses with little commonality
  • Broad regulatory environment due to the global nature of the platform

  • Fast moving and continually evolving environment from a business, technology, risk and regulatory perspective due to the global nature of the role
  • An acute risk environment due to the evolving nature of the external threats to the platform
  • Conflicting drivers and priorities of key stakeholders
  • Role Dimensions
  • The job holder will be a direct report of the Global Head of FI GPS Digital to whom they will provide significant support and assume specific responsibilities for certain areas defined in the Role Dimensions of the Head's job description namely:
  • Significant organizational visibility and influence, requires gravitas and strong networking skills
  • Working with all GPS teams in each of the five regions
  • Working with eChannels Product and development teams, in particular HSBCnet and HSBC Connect
  • Regular contact with senior management and opinion leaders throughout
