Job Description:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer

  • Molding will be responsible for suppliers' development activities in injection molding and provide engineering and manufacturing support. The engineer will lead collaboration with suppliers to establish and maintaining manufacturing processes, procedures, capacity planning, tooling, process development, routings, cost reductions, and quality improvements for the injection molding process. Support sourcing strategies for supplier's diversification and risk management.

Job Responsabilities

  • Lead new suppliers' technical audit and evaluation.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross functional team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide engineering, manufacturing and problemsolving support to suppliers and facilities.
  • Compile, prepare, and present data for project updates and presentations.
  • Lead/manage multiple project activities in an aggressive and innovative approach in developing quality improvements and cost reductions to existing products utilizing a working knowledge of various materials, manufacturing techniques and engineering practices.
  • Develop improvements to existing products and processes and fulfill business opportunities (target costs, timing, and customer requirements), while meeting all applicable codes and standards.
  • Improve manufacturing methods through the modification of existing equipment and processes and make recommendations regarding facility and product design and equipment to meet manufacturing goals.
  • Provide guidance and technical solutions for engineering and manufacturing initiatives, projects, and improvement activities.
  • Support new product development by collaborating with engineering, suppliers and project teams for new components and products.
  • Collaborate with new and existing suppliers for tool design and manufacturing.

Qualifications:


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Plastic Injection molding required.
  • Experience with finishing processes preferred.
  • Strong problemsolving skills.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred.
  • ISO 9000 / TS16949 auditor certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a crossfunctional team and interface with Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time is required.
  • Fluent with standard PC tools, Microsoft software, 3D CAD etc.
  • Outstanding & professional experience/knowledge of quality management tools.
  • Advanced Failure Analysis and scientific problem solving.
  • FEA, FMEA, DOE, QFD, and DFMA.
  • Use of engineering principles. i.e. fluid, mechanical and thermal & GD & T.
  • Analysis of component / assembly tolerance stackup's.
  • Written and verbal communication skills for dealing with multiple levels of staff, customers and suppliers.
