In this position, you will grasp the vital subsystems and operating conditions for energy applications, delve into the complexities of embedded systems, and learn to identify unique operational scenarios. Applying this expertise, you will guarantee the error-free delivery of energy application software, meeting the high standards expected by Caterpillar's customers.
As part of this role, you will collaborate with a diverse global verification and validation test team. This will provide you with the chance to engage with engineers from various disciplines, continuously acquire new skills, and enhance your practical engineering capabilities. You will be empowered to drive your professional growth, learning through hands-on experience and staying updated on technological advancements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage testing priorities and workload
- Execute test plans
- Analyze SW requirements and electronic systems to create test bench requirements
- Document test plans based on software specifications
- Ensure safety compliance throughout the development process
- Conduct software testing using HIL and VPD tools
- Troubleshoot software and hardware issues during testing
- Lead issue resolutions collaborating with software and systems engineers
- Communicate test results to project leads
- Share technical information with team members
- Document test conclusions with traceability
- Track product development issues to resolution
- Investigate field issues
- Automate test procedures and internal processes for improved efficiency
- Ensure thoroughness and consistency in software testing on engine/system benches, in lab & field environments
- Set up and manage software test benches, including SW and HW upgrades
- Generate and present accurate reports on validation status and results
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop automations and resolve complex issues
- Drive innovation for enhanced efficiency
Degree Requirement:
This position mandates a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

Basic Qualification:
- 1-2 years of concurrent industry experience in HIL testing of embedded software using DSPACE or NI test simulator
- Proficiency in interpreting embedded software in C and Matlab/Simulink
- Passion for software testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
English Level: Advanced
Top Candidate:
- Proficiency in operating and fault modes of electronics, sensors, actuators, control methods, communication networks, test automation, and instrumentation tools
- Expertise in programming, graphical environments, version control tools, and software development processes
