    About the Role

    The Procurement Specialist (PS) ITD will bring experienced sourcing and procurement services to internal customers and support delivery of Category Strategies. The PS will contribute to a variety of initiatives to reduce costs, and support processes that improve the quality of goods and services provided to their internal customers and work to ensure that all vendors serving Swiss Re help the organization meet its business goals.

    Contribute to the bottom-up aggregation of all ITD data across divisions and countries to inform the top-down target setting process and reconciling the "gaps" between bottom-up and top-down targets and identifying initiatives required to close any such disparities


    • Contribute to the development of ITD financial targets, and delivering financial targets where applicable


    • Responsible for assisting collection and consolidation of ITD information and reporting to populate the KPIs and Balanced Scorecard Targets


    • Responsible for consolidating, sharing and effective collaboration of Vendor, market, category and internal business data and information to develop the ITD strategy


    • Responsible for monitoring compliance as well as enforcing Targeted Standard on Global Procurement and the associated Buying Guidance and Vendor Management activities


    • Accountable to ensure quality processes for ITD service delivery is maintained and updated to ensure business partner requirements continue to be met


    • Responsible for supporting the vendor management framework for the ITD, aligned to the Vendor Relationship Management Framework and Global Procurement Services and Process Landscape


    • Contribute to developing the Procurement network in North America while ensuring effective collaboration across Procurement


    • Accountable for taking ownership of your own career, performance and development


    • Responsible to ensure continual improvement is exercised across areas of responsibility


    • Responsible for providing project execution support to specific ITD Procurement projects


    • Responsible to ensure all Procurement relevant contract documentation is properly stored and maintained in the contract data base for the ITD


    • Responsible for providing ITD input into the development of appropriate Procurement processes


    • Responsible for implementation, execution and communication of ITD Procurement activities and contribute to the Procurement Category Strategy and Annual ITD Plans for relevant business partners

    About you:

    Bachelor's degree required at a minimum; in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field. Strong preference for CIPS or similar professional qualification

    Ideally, the Candidate will have five (5) years of IT, including IT Professional Services Sourcing/Procurement experience in the insurance, re-insurance or financial services industry. Candidate will demonstrate proficiency in executing on pragmatic solutions in collaboration with the business to advance business priorities. Candidate will have experience in proposing and negotiating US contract terms. Candidate will be required to communicate effectively with Business partners and external suppliers. Candidate shall demonstrate behaviours consistent with Swiss Re's personal imperatives with a focus on driving sustainable performance and continuous improvement.
