Your role at Baxter

As a Senior Specialist Network Architecture and Automation, design and implement local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, Cloud AWS and Microsoft Azure data communications networks.

Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures. May also design network and computer security measures. Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.


What you'll be doing

  • Design, analyze, plan and modify Baxter networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities.
  • Prepare the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching and routing.
  • Provide information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conduct testing of network systems, firewalls, and cloud security
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, wireless controllers, cloud security (ie ZScaler) etc.
  • Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Create new automation to streamline network device deployments and reduce repetitive nonvalue deployments.
  • Develop Automation and scripts to monitor network faults and selfheal issues to prevent business impacting network outages.
  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco routers, Aruba SDWAN, MPLS and Flex VPN.
  • Deep understanding of wireless technology, performing site surveys and analyzing the location of wireless access points for the best coverage.
  • Indepth knowledge of TCP/IP and communications protocols
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9300, 4500, 9400; Nexus 3K, 5K, 7K and 9K, Fortinet and Cisco firewalls.
  • Assist engineering team in documentation, testing, implementation, and ongoing support for our complex secured network systems.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field preferred or relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years of network operational and network architect experience
  • Cisco CCNA or CCIE certification.
