We're looking for a Tax Specialist that'll report to the Head of Financial Control in Mexico. The challenge is to prepare and submit all the administrative tax filings. What you'll be doingWorking closely with the tax compliance teams for direct and indirect tax as well as our external advisorsFocusing on the development of automated calculations and tax filings for direct tax and indirect tax projectsExtracting and utilizing data to support the preparation and submission of local tax returnsAssisting with transfer pricing, tax optimization, and direct and indirect tax projectsSupporting the team with data-driven tax forecasting and cash tax processesHelping to optimize tax spend globallyPreparing local tax disclosures for statutory accountsWhat you'll need5+ years of post-qualified accounting experience in finance functions, preferably within a financial service company with cross-functional and multinational teamsExpertise in corporation tax accounting, such as ledger postings, reconciliation to tax returns, and TP allocation (preferably in Mexico, but experience in LATAM will be considered)An accounting degree or CPA-equivalentThe ability to extract and validate information from IT systems and build evidence-based tax audit trails, which can be aligned to the tax rulesKnowledge of month-end tax accounting processExcellent verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to collaborate effectively with highly experienced business and tax professionals in a start-up atmosphereA self-starter attitude with impressive problem-solving and decision-making skillsTo work independently with a high level of initiative and judgementA flexible mindset and willingness to embrace changeNice to haveExperience in banking, regulated financial entity, and/or start-upData analytics skills or experience with SQL, for exampleExperience with VAT tax accountingBuilding a global financial super app isn't enough.
