Job Description:


Position Summary


The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for a supporting various accounting, planning, forecasting, causaling and reporting processes and analyses in support of Rockwell's Software & Control business segment.

The role reports to the Global Analytics and Insights organization and engages with finance partners in Software & Control to report results, develop financial plans, forecasts and analyze actual performance against those goals.


The mission of the Global Analytics and Insights organization is to provide business and functional partners with information to manage performance and support decision making, while driving operational excellence in the process.

The Senior Financial Analyst will own certain reporting, accounting, and analytics for the Software & Control business segment and be a key resource for ad hoc analysis required by our finance partners.

The role utilizes global consolidation financial systems (Oracle EPM), SAP, and Power BI to provide reporting, analytics and insights on a variety of key financial metrics, including sales growth and margins.

The Senior Analyst also works to automate processes and support simplification and standardization efforts. The role entails business partnering, mainly supporting stakeholders based in North America.


Essential Functions:


  • Maintain and enhance standard reporting including business unit performance, regional performance, trends, and variances to plan, forecast and prior periods.
  • Present and explain financial performance and key variances and changes vs. forecast, plan, and prior year.
  • Ensure the predictability of results by driving standard and effective quarterly forecasts.
  • Develop financial plans utilizing business partner input and leveraging standard tools and processes to enable clear explanations for financial performance.
  • Create ad hoc analyses and respond to business inquiries to understand trends in financial performance.
  • Developing and advocating for automation, simplification, and standardization in reporting.
  • Closely align with the other teams in the Global Analytics and Insights organization to drive improved and standardized global processes.
  • Assist in the transfer of workload between FP&A organizations within Rockwell to ensure continuity of business support and enabling use of standard tools and processes.
  • Assist with team training efforts and help develop coworkers' FP&A skillsets and systems knowledge.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related careers.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Preferred Qualification:


  • 35 years of FP&A or accounting experience
  • Superior analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Must have a proficient knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects with varying deadlines
  • Adept at leveraging financial systems and desktop apps to "drill down" to find answers
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and proactively drive issue resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret financial results and develop key takeaways and insights
  • Process improvement focus and proactive mindset with an eagerness to learn the business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to flex work schedule as needed and work effectively across time zones, businesses, and functions to resolve issues
