Position Summary:
Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering function in support of TR HCV Business Unit

Position Responsibilities:

Selection, training, mentoring, and supervising the activities of engineering/technical staff and program

managers. Conduct performance evaluations and giving feedback regarding improvement needs. Provide

performance based input to employee compensation considerations.

In coordination with Auburn Hills BU office and SCW Development Dept, plan and formulate product

development goals and objectives. Assign engineering/technical staff and secure support of STG shared

resource groups to meet project requirements.

Assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of the project, i.e. technical studies, product design,

preparation of specifications and technical plans, product testing, and design release.

Review product for compliance to engineering principles, company design standards, customer

requirements, and related specifications.

In coordination with Northville BU office, oversee product field performance (Ride Tuning), warranty trend tracking/failure root cause analysis. Initiate and drive activities to support field test programs needed to develop and implement design improvement.
Manage activities (drawings, prototype preparation/delivery) in accordance with customer commitments and requirements.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Support Procurement Department initiatives to qualify suppliers for localization initiatives
Independently and in coordination with Manufacturing Operations, identify and support cost reduction

initiatives.

Provide local market account representation for Truck and Railway Damper customers.
Comply with all TS16949 policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:

5year mechanical engineering degree
Ability to lead, motivate, and support individuals and teams
Exceptional interpersonal communication and listening skills
Excellent verbal and written Spanish language skills, fluency in verbal and written English language

Preferred Skills and experience:

HCV industry experience

Reporting to Position:
HCV design engineers and program managers
