    The LATAM Transport department is looking for Transport Specialist to ensure components are delivered ensuring Safe, timely and cost-effective as planned and in compliance with Customs and TAX regulations where Vestas operates, overseeing and managing materials and equipment within LATAM with main focus in LAT North countries.

    The general purpose is to oversee and coordinate general cargo and main components procedures of wind turbines and their components within factories, warehouses and wind sites.

  • Having experience with a full understanding in Transport & Customs area demonstrating effective application of knowledge in the organization, providing detailed and specific advice, clearly explaining facts, practices, policies to others within the organization or to external parties
  • Taking action to ensure knowledge and development ensuring the quality of the own work and of others in the team
  • Applying specialist skills to perform a range of sometimes complex and non-routine work activities to improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques
  • Applying methodical approach to issue definition and resolution. Resolving a wide range of specific issues effectively seeking needed collaboration
  • Is able to adapt and exchange information to reach agreement through flexibility and compromise. Sharing and communicating knowledge and innovation
  • Anchor the implementations in the area as - but not limited to: new process, systems, logistic provider, products, business case, investigating and support problem-solving, monitor and report risks & opportunities
  • Coordinate Inbound Transport Team on all deliveries attending services and factories demands ensuring shipments are properly safety, on track and reported
  • Provide guidance, assistance and advice to the internal clients in support of their operations, attending safety, customs, tax, finance, account and systems compliance process
  • Close cooperation in the transport team improving the operation in the region and meet the KPIs from transport department
  • Supplier Performance Management as also coordinate and control their payments
  • Investigate and support problem-solving of delivery and transport quality issues, monitor and report transport risks, supporting team to recover NCR/Claim costs disputes
  • Ensure transparency and control in performance reporting within regional transport while supporting updates for regional business and performance reviews
  • Assist with the Transport Budget preparation & control process, ensuring high integrity in our numbers by having accurate figures in Inbound reports and a high-quality budget on well-documented assumptions
  • Ensure root cause explanations in our forecast where all changes and deviation are explained by the underlying business drivers
  • Anchor the cost risk impacts, investigating and support problem-solving, monitor and report risks & opportunities
  • Work in order to Optimize and Reduce overall logistics and customs costs, assisting Transport team on various cost reduction initiatives, business cases preparation & reporting
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistic, Business or International Studies/Foreign Trade preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position focused on Logistic/Transport
  • Comprehensive knowledge of logistics operations and practices, in-depth knowledge and hands-on
    • Solid stakeholder management skills
  • Significant financial experience in transport cost controlling
  • Solid systems skills including MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint), favorably including hands-on experience in Power BI and SAP BI.
  • Attention to detail and build smart well-organized spreadsheets
  • Advance English and Spanish language skills, written and spoken. Portuguese is a bonus.
