Direct material buyer will be responsible of obtaining material cost reductions through VAVE or P2P opportunities.

Work closely with cross functional teams to execute sourcing process considering category strategy, timeliness, and competitiveness.

Support strategic team to leverage buying power and optimize number of suppliers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
Fluent English

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

A minimum of 3 years in direct material purchasing.
Experience in purchasing raw materials from the following categories: Electrical & Electronics, Harness Coverings, Resins, Plastics and/or Metals.
Solid knowledge in benchmark activities, volume spend, resourcing, payment term improvements with designated suppliers and localization projects.
Strong experience in high level supplier negotiations, competitive quoting, and contract management.
Successful savings projects implementation.

Key activities and responsibilities:

Identification and execution of savings opportunities through historical and projected material consumption.
Analysis of direct material spend.
Execution of quotations and negotiations according to category strategy.
Process on time requirements from plants.
Manage day to day activities and support cross functional teams.
Maintain purchase orders and costs.
Follow up invoice discrepancies.
