Operations Manager

A vital source of technical expertise, you'll lead the team that keeps our operations up and running.

In this role, you'll be responsible for all Production and Maintenance on site; to ensure that production lines within the facility achieves at all times the level of safety, quality, customer service and cost.

This role requires knowledge and experience of production, team leadership, maintenance project management, quality assurance, EHS management and continuous improvement tools, ensuring all appropriate resources are focused on the delivery of the plant's strategic and tactical goals.

You'll lead and manage the Operations training program to ensure appropriate skills are available for current and new technologies.

You'll empower our production teams to take ownership for their work processes and improvement plans, to be fully autonomous to ensure KPI targets are achieved.


You'll:

  • Responsible for all production operations by ensuring all products are manufactured in accordance with our quality standards and to an agreed schedule, at minimum cost.
  • Responsible for ensuring all production operations are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with State and Federal regulations including our company policies.
  • Leads the analysis of available loss data and champions activities to improve plant equipment effectiveness and reduce wastage within operations.
  • Accountable for ensuring sufficient and flexible work processes are developed in conjunction with plant leadership team and then implemented flawlessly throughout all operations in order to deliver plant KPI's (Key Performance Indicators).
  • As a member of the plant senior management team, to be responsible for recommendation of Capital Expenditure and plant tactical objectives to reach ultimate goals.
  • Support and embrace all project scopes to compliment the plant continuous improvement methodology and meet new product development timings.
  • Accountable for conversion cost vs agreed budget.
  • Leads and coordinates all production activities with engineering and materials team to ensure mínimal unplanned interruptions to plant operations.
  • Contributes to site's 'talent' development program.
  • Contributes to consistently delivers the highest quality services possible to the business.
  • Analyzes production and facilities downtime data and develops and implements corrective actions to improve production processes.
  • Develops and implements and leads the Preventive Planned Maintenance process to ensure effectiveness in supporting the reliability of the plant's operation.
  • Coordinates the Maintenance activities between production and maintenance areas to insure uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Assures continuous service of utilities; analyzes and reports cost of utilities and explores alternatives that will result in greater economy, safety and reliability.
  • Prepares maintenance budget requests and manages spending allotted to the department under the approved annual budgets.
  • Coordinate and manage needed support from outside contractors and equipment manufacturers.
  • Knowledgeable of the plant's ISO9002 Quality System and related SOP's and Control Plans. ensures effective implementation of Quality System in Production and Maintenance.

You're:

  • 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Strong experience in Management Manufacturing Processes
  • Strong experience in Maintenance Strategy (TPM)
  • Experience in CI highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Factory compliance
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Are a team builder. Able to motivate and develop a team where initiative, collaboration and respect are key
  • Can implement control systems and continuous improvement processes
