Eaton's AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Jr. Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd. Shift.


What you'll do:


Primary Function:

Provide manufacturing technical assistance for new and existing products, facility layout, capital equipment, and tooling requirements manufacturing operations.


Essential Functions:

Able to confer with Design Engineering on manufacturability and testability of new products and bring new products into Manufacturing:
a.

Ability to understand molding, machining, & stamping design concepts and be able to interact with Design Engineers in technical discussions around these processes.

b. Ability to tailor process development around expected volume and duration of the product.
c. Possesses a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance usage.
d. Familiarity with New Product Introduction project management systems.
e. Capable of estimating costing on new products at various stages of Design completion.
f. Evaluates/Selects tooling and equipment supplies. Writes capital justification requests.

  • Develops, evaluates manufacturing methods, including tooling, fixtures and processes.
  • Analyzes and plans, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment for maximum efficiency.
  • Create Operation Sheets.
  • Develops and analyzed statistical data and product/process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas
  • Translate to Spanish transferred manufacturing engineering documentation.
  • Ensure that BOM, Router and Operation Sheets are in accordance to Eng. Drawing and Eng. Specs.
  • Verify at the production line that operators are able to assemble from the documentation given, i.e. Operation Sheets

Qualifications:

Basic qualifications:
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in manufacturing processes.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Understanding of problemsolving methods (Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis).
  • Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality registration schemes and certification processes (ISO9001, AS9100).
  • Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Green Belt certified is a plus.
