    JOB SUMMARY

    The Analytics Analyst main job is to 1) update the recurrent existing reports for the continent, 2) review the consistency and accuracy of recurring reporting data, 3) support the analytics team in data extraction for on-demand analysis development and 4) be the first-line contact between the analytics team and other areas. Recurring reporting involves Marriott's hotel performance across the region, competition monitoring, customer behavior, macro-economic environment, industry trends, etc.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Education and Experience

    • 4-year degree required from an accredited university in business, preferably in a quantitative discipline (finance, operations research, economics, mathematics, statistics, etc.).
    • 2-year experience in SP500 or BMV listed company in an analytical area executing:
    • Data extraction (SQL, text files, excel files, web scraping)
    • Data Visualization (Tableau, PowerBI, Latex, Shiny, Quarto)
    • Programming (R/Python, Excel macros)
    • Automation (SQL scheduling, R/Python validation and analysis, Excel update, Visualizations update)
    • Experience in communicating weekly with native English-speaking coworkers.
    • The following skills and experience are considered a plus:
      • Automation and data analysis with Tidyverse packages
      • Statistical analysis knowledge
      • Travel industry knowledge
      • Data governance knowledge
      • Continue education in any hard science or data analysis related field
      • Experience in the whole data products pipeline
      • Masters' degree
      • Experience in business analysis and recommendations statement

    CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

    • Updates recurring reporting weekly and implements small changes to current analytics tools in line with business needs (SQL code, R code, Tableau dashboards, Excel reports, PowerPoint presentations).
    • Supports the creation of new analytics tools (data extraction, data validation, tool creation, production launch, analysis presentation, documentation).
    • Provides specific data points for on-demand analysis for senior leadership.
    • Supports regions, markets, and hotels with data requests and data evangelization.
    • Maintains communication with HR, Internal Communications, properties' stakeholders, etc. on behalf of the analytics team.
    • Supports internal administrative tasks (monthly analytics meetings, agreements follow up, etc.).
    • Performs other duties as needed.
