The Job

To lead and manage the development and implementation of Promotions, Food & Beverages, Personal Care, Infant Products, Pet Products, Licensed Advertising and Global Themed Entertainment categories.

Main responsible for scouting, pitching, managing, and developing all licensees in these categories.


The Daily - Major Activities

  • Develop and implement the strategic plan for the abovementioned categories. Takes leadership in the planning and followup process across all categories with Burbank GBE and Franchise groups.
  • Directly sells & manages potential licensees for the categories creating and following a Sales Plan. Plan includes company scouting, pitch proposal, forecasting, product development, quarterly reviews, and retail implementations.
  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with key Ad Agencies in order to promote the Licensed Advertising business across major consumer good companies. Works along with WBD Ad Sales group in order to leverage existing relationships to promote the use of licensed characters.
  • Works along the Global Themed Entertainment group in Burbank to identify, pitch and secure licensing deals for live events, museums, theme parks, exhibits, shopping mall activations, restaurants and other themed events.
  • Manages and coordinates all promotional deals related to movie properties with local theatrical office in order to not only promote our licensee business but also box office.
  • Negotiates promotional activations with key retailers and category buyers, identifying key decision makers at those companies to achieve successful placement of category licensees.
  • Open new business opportunities in unlicensed industries in order to establish negotiations with them such as new channels of distribution, new untapped categories, new price point venues among others.
  • Coordinates relationships with all different line of businesses within Warner Bros. Discovery at a promotional level. Supports supervising manager in coordinating all joint efforts with lines of business, maximizing synergistic opportunities to grow WBD brands and increase licensee's product sellthrough.
  • Identifies the key drivers that will interest licensees, retailers and line of businesses in participating, and investing in activities led by Consumer Products.
  • Coordinates and followup through the whole licensee onboarding process including deal req., getting all necessary paperwork from licensee, credit/finance credit checks, contract draft review, licensee signature, etc.
  • In conjunction with antipiracy department, work with all appropriate staff to insure that nonlicensed companies are stopped and taken out of the market.
  • Monitors and reports activities of Consumer Products competitors through the use of Research and Insights tools such as Euromonitor, NPD Data, Retail Insights data sharing and any other market research tools available.

The Essentials

  • English fluency a must reading / writing / speaking.
  • Solid understanding of Mexico's retail market
  • Excellent Computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint required.
  • Excellent negotiating, selling and presentation skills.
  • Keen understanding of the role of entertainment properties as a marketing tool in the retail and promotions environment and their effective translation to tangible products and promotions.

The Nice to Haves

  • Minimum three (3) years proven success in Key Account Management, Trade Marketing or Brand Management at a major Package Goods Multinational company
  • Experience in successfully developing product/promotional launches, Retail business development
Previous experience in licensing is preferred.
