    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Position Summary:

    This position provides daily manufacturing support to a multifunctional team whose main responsibility is keeping a group of assembly lines operating according to KPS system.

    Essential Functions:

    • Provides technical support for manufacturing cells in a manufacturing environment.
    • Ensures assembly lines are balanced and producing according to standards.
    • Ensures assembly lines follow Safety, Ergonomic and Environmental Standards.
    • Represents manufacturing on a power base integrated by several assembly lines and different team members.
    • Improves manufacturing processes according to company standards. (Layout changes, Cost Saving projects, etc.)
    • Provides manufacturing expertise and support to define, design, build, evaluate and deploy new assembly lines.
    • Maintains manufacturing documents according to Company Quality System and customer requirements.
    • Assists plant wide efforts to maintain IATF-16949 or current applicable certification.
    • Supports continuous improvement and KPS activities.
    • Supports WCM Pillar Activities.
    • Ensures mistake proofing devices are deployed according to Company Standards.
    • Supports and provides manufacturing expertise for PFMEA and engineering document initiatives.
    • Creates, loads and maintains SAP routings. Ensures information about work Centers, Cycle time, production version, etc. is accurate.
    • Stops assembly lines and creates alternatives along with a multifunctional team if; Products Quality or Safety is compromised.
    • Proposes and/or executes engineering changes on assembly lines.
    • Ensures manufacturing on assembly lines is defined and executed based on Product Safety Rules and procedures define by Central Quality.
    • Supports Activities related to Product Safety and VDA Audits.
    • Ensures customer requirements are met on assembly lines.
    • The employee has the authority to stop the production line, when he/she notices that the product has a quality problem or defect.
    • Support PSA Activities and procedures with team members
    • Perform all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.

    Management & Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Reports to Plant Engineering Manager/ Engineering Plant Lead.
    • This position is responsible of representing manufacturing on a power base(s).
    • Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees.
    • Co-ops, Students or Apprentices may temporally report to this position.

    Knowledge:

    • CAD software usage.
    • Lean Manufacturing principles.
    • Strong Excell
    • Strong Power Point
    • Time and motion study.
    • Layout knowledge.
    • Failure mode and effect analysis (PFMEA)
    • Manufacturing processes (crimping, PCB flashing, Automatic Testing, welding, force & distance insertions, Automatic Torqueing )
    • Measurement systems analysis focused on Manufacturing.
    • Data Analysis and Problem solving.
    • Experience launching new lines and products.

    Experience:

    Relevant experience in manufacturing environments.

    Education/Certifications:

    • BS degree in Engineering (ME, MET, EE, EET) required
    • Bilingual English and Spanish a must
