Trade and Transaction Reporting Control Team Leader


Objective:


The Regulatory Reporting Trade Conduct Controls (RRTCC) function, provide control monitoring and oversight of HSBC's trade and transaction reporting to regulators and exchanges.

This role is to lead and manage the team in Mexico covering trade and transaction reporting obligations for both OTC Derivatives and Cash Products (Equities, Fixed Income Securities, Futures, Listed Options etc.).

The incumbent will need to be competent and capable of influencing and leading regional forum both within Operations and outside of Operations.

The key objective is to drive the implementation of the Trade Reporting Control Framework across all activities within the trade and transaction reporting team in Mexico.


Activities:

  • To develop and lead the Mexico Trade and Transaction Reporting Control team in the day to day process and controls supporting Trade and Transaction Reporting (i.e. CFTC Swap, SEC Securitybased Swap, CAT, ACT, TRACE, Short Interest, Large Trader Reporting, Large Option Position Reporting)
  • Support the implementation of Global RRTCC controls and governance framework and streamline processes across the different regions (HBUS, HBEU, HBAP)
  • Maintain oversight of forthcoming regulation and associated impacts on trade/transaction reporting
  • Provide management information and assistance to the business when changes are required by the regulators.
  • Educate the business on the reasons behind Trade reporting.
  • Work Closely with Compliance, IT and Operations to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Manage adhoc reporting projects as they occur
  • Build and enforce strong governance models by product and by entity;
  • Assist in implementing a robust quality assurance testing program across products and regulatory requirements.
  • Understand and explain the technical infrastructure that supports regulatory reporting and suggest improvements
  • Work with Trading and Compliance on rollout of new products to ensure adherence to trade and transaction reporting obligations
  • Attend industry working group calls
  • Lead governance meeting with senior stakeholders including Trading, Sales, Compliance, Technology and Operations
  • Work with Operations Regulatory Project Managers responsible for other global regulation (EMIR, HKMA, etc.), as appropriate, to ensure global compliance and process consistency where possible.
  • Work closely with the global Operations, IT, Compliance, and Front Office teams to build required system changes that will ensure the firm is compliant with all regulatory mandates and industry golives by their various deadlines.
  • Maintain relationships with various market vendors such as Broadridge, MarkitSERV, DTCC and ICE to ensure HSBC is aware and aligned to their regulatory
- and initiative-related solutions

  • Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.
Requirements


Knowledge and Skill Requirements:


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Trade and Transaction Reporting, Compliance or Control Analytics function
  • Knowledge regulatory obligations such as CFTC, SEC Derivative reporting, TRACE, CAT, Electronic Bluesheets, LTR, LOPR
  • Swap Dealer / Broker-Dealer experience preferred
  • Experience with OTC Derivatives products is a plus
  • Background in Data Analysis
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Project management experience and/or Six Sigma qualification useful
  • Technical / IT understanding of how trading and order management systems operate is desirable
  • Minimum of a BA/BS degree
  • Assertive with strong influencing skills to be able to work with the industry, global Operations, IT and Trading effectively
