Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Corporate Affairs:_
  • Ensure the development and implementation of corporate affairs strategic and tactical plans to support Viatris objectives in assigned markets.
  • Identify partnership opportunities with governments and other priority stakeholders, design and deliver programs that address patient access to quality medicines in assigned markets, and advance business goals.
  • Act as a strategic CA expert:
  • Anticipate potential issues, effects of governments, competitors, NGOs, and other external action and reaction to brand, address policy and reputational issues, crisis management.
  • Identify and anticipate impact of business development opportunities on pricing, reputation, policies.
  • Embed external environment assessment, policy objectives and stakeholder engagement plan into strategic operating plan development and execution.
  • Manage policy challenges and create strategies to mitigate risks and enable opportunities.
  • Identify priority public policy, government affairs, and public health/patient access and communication opportunities to maximize value to the business.
  • Support developing and executing the value narrative for Viatris and brands, ensure alignment with the corporate brand narrative.
  • Coordinate with counterparts from business units, legal, commercial, medical, operations, regulatory and within corporate affairs to ensure alignment across initiatives and issues.
  • Identify relevant trade association and other entities, and own relations with these associations to advance key policy priorities.
  • Develop tools to support public affairs strategy implementation by country and establish metrics to track effectiveness.
  • Ensure activities are in full compliance with Viatris policy and legal obligations.
  • Coordinate with the regional Head of CA and global functional CA heads as warranted.


  • Access:_

  • Manage the creation and implementation of Market Access strategies for products, contributing to the sustainability of the Health System.
  • Identify opportunities to include relevant products in the Health System list (public and private) to provide better treatment for patients.
  • Work in close partnership with the Pricing Team and establish relationships with government pricing authorities.
  • Ensure the execution of strategic plans and that the resources and investments made available to KAMS and KAEs are applied within adequate planning and with the best efficiency for technical promotion, creation and implementation of scientific initiatives, coordination of events, execution of awareness campaigns, among others.
  • Actively participate in the development of objectives and definitions of the promoted portfolio, as well as review and/or define visitation strategies.
  • Monitor the performance of the Access team, analyzing and defining specific action plans to correct deviations and achieve the defined objectives.
  • Ensure partnership with therapeutic areas, reflecting the objectives aligned in the strategies of the main clients, and jointly identifying the need for tools and materials for support.
  • Identify additional demands and provide support for the development/adaptation of new Value Messages with the main internal Access, Product and Pharmacoeconomics stakeholders.
  • Monitor changes in the market and competition, anticipating risks and opportunities for Access.
  • Conduct actions and decisions under the responsibility of the position, respecting the company's Code of Conduct, always in line with Compliance rules.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in public policy or MBA. Minimum 8 years' experience in public policy and/or market access, government relations, public affairs, corporate affairs, legal affairs, communication, media relations. Experience in assigned market is required.
  • Strong financial acumen and knowledge of pharmaceutical market is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills: ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, communicate at highest level of government and business and with internal cross functional teams.
