General Description of the Role

The FP&A Commercial Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, preparing, analyzing, and distributing essential financial reports and analytics to sales management and other areas within the company to support decision making.

They will support, improve and question current or future commercial agreements, and formulate new business proposals to drive value creation.

They will provide advice to different committees as needed with a financial optical focused on the profitability and the economic viability of the projects.


Mission/Objectives
The mission for the FP&A Commercial Specialist is focused on the following objectives:

  • Support, improve and advise with regard to trade policies, new business proposals or review of trade agreements.
  • Create strong business partnerships with Sales, Sales Operations, Accounting & Finance to properly document and evaluate business profitability by channel.
  • Work closely with Sales Management in support of budget preparation and multiyear business planning.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A Marketing Specialist to drive a profitfirst mentality across the Campari commercial team.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

Business Partnering:


  • Serve as business partner for the sales team by providing support to the organization through the financial and business analysis on different items related to the commercial area.
  • Influence commercial team on financial decision matters providing reports and analysis.
  • Monthly meetings with the Sales Director to followup on main KPI's and Profit and Loss review by client to identify opportunities on revenues, mix or investment.
  • Analyze sales productivity, margins and promotional investment trends, as well as identify areas of opportunity to improve results.
  • Implement the global best practices for the group to the commercial area.
  • Manage the discounts and trade budget according to the authorization matrix including the
- implementation of controls for promotions and sales incentives.


Analytics and Reporting:


  • Perform different analysis for pricing set up and price elasticity based on financial targets or market trends.
  • Control, analysis and followup of the discounts per customer/brand including measurement of effectiveness by promotion.
  • Elaborate financial reports & analysis (KPI's report, P+L by customer, commercial activity grid by client) for the commercial area as well as building, updating and followingup of the P&L by customer / SKU.
  • Monthly reviews for price mix impacts on sales.
  • Monitoring and improving of compliance for the commercial department supported by region and corporate guidlance.
  • Collaborate actively in budgeting and forecasting, mainly within the commercial side.
  • Develop executive presentations focused on the profitability of the business and support the decision making.
  • Monthly and quarterly reviews that allow to identify P&L deviations for volume, net sales, mix, and other commercial variances.
  • Upload information to budget & reporting systems (BPC-AA)
  • Develop, improve and/or update policies, procedures and internal control tools for the area and assure the total adherence to them.

Portfolio Analysis:


  • Portfolio analysis by customer with focus on margin accretion.
  • Provide help on the portfolio razionalitation by channel and customer by providing financial analysis on what if scenarios.
  • Collaborate within the S&OP process by customer/channel/brand.
  • Build, update and followup on the profitability analysis by country for Central America export business and create their P&L by distributor.

Training:


  • Develop training sessions, manuals and process documentation for internal clients related to sales and trade agreements planning, reporting and proper compliance according to Group policies.
